The holiday season is almost upon us, or perhaps upon us already if you're one of those people who start playing holiday music November 1st at 12:00am (I am those people). So whether you're looking for some gift ideas for a friend, partner, family member, esteemed acquaintance, or maybe just for yourself, here are 6 Gift Ideas for Book Lovers!

Beyond the Basics

Now, of course the easiest answer is always to get a gift card to a local book store, or if you happen to know of a book your lucky reciever would love, those are two great ideas. But if you're looking for something a that's little more.

A Book Buying Date

Something I love to do with my friends is to make getting their gifts a whole event! This is great especially because it adds the time spent together to the gift and can help if you don't know what they'd like in particular. Head to a book store (or two, or a few if you want to get really fancy), and browse to your hearts content. Maybe grab something to sip on before, or you can find a place to sit down and snack while discussing any goodies found while shopping. This is really good if the reciever of the gift's love language is quality time, or if you haven't seen them in a while.

For the Classic Lovers

If there is one thing I know about book lovers, it is that we are suckers for really pretty covers. Therefore, my next suggestion is a special edition of a book. It is fairly easy to find a variety of editions, and extremely beautiful ones too, of many different classics. One of my favourites is the Random House clothbound classics.

The next item I found fairly recently but when I tell you that I am OBSESSED with them!

And that is the Library Candles from Paddywax! They are wonderfully smelling candles inspired by different authors. They have a Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, Leo Tolstoy, Shakespeare, and more. (I bought 3 of them for myself, one of which is the William Shakespeare not only because it just generally smells great but also because I like the idea of saying "let's burn William Shakespeare" when I want to light a candle). They also come in a little travel/pocket sized version, which are so cute, and also nice if you don't want to commit to a bigger candle.

For Jane Austen Fans

Of course, where would I be without a whole section dedicated to Austen herself. Any of the above items also work for Austen fans but these next two ideas are two of my faves. One of which is another candle, but a very fancy and special candle.

Fans of the 2005 Pride and Prejudice will not only recongnize this statue but will proabably be overcome with the need to recreate the scene in which this statue is found.

If your gift reciever is a Jane Austen fan and a board game fan, than look no further than one of the best games ever made:

Yes, this is a game in which players get to be the women of Pride and Prejudice and compete to try and marry Mr Darcy. It is an amazing time, fun for everyone. I will say all of the times I've played I've somehow chosen Caroline Bingley as my charcter (you choose blindly) and I've also married Mr Darcy- so I basically won!

For the Book Clubbers

Finally, whether currently in a book club or wanting to start a book club, this extra cute journal can help keep track of what you're reading, thoughts and feelings, etc. I just got one for myself and some of my book club members and I'm very excited to use it!

If not in a book club but still looking for a way to track reading, either an empty journal or one made specifcally for logging reading, are great gifts.

My final tip is, no matter what you choose to get your book lover, if it comes from love and appreciation, it's a good gift (because it's the thought that counts, right?)
