Getting to know Romeothegreat

Born in a small city in South Texas, Rome was always trying to push toward the future and work toward bigger and better goals. When he was 18, he took a major step in that direction, spending time in the largest cities of Texas, including Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and Corpus Christi. He had already immersed himself in the music industry, learning all that he could about the business models that were working and embracing his dreams of entrepreneurship and his gift for creativity. To pay his bills, though, he started to take on event photography gigs and work for a large diamond company, acting as a salesman. Although Rome was cultivating useful skills and habits, he was far from where he wanted to be, and his life took a twisting path. On more than one occasion, he found himself face-to-face with death. He had to spend a decade correcting his course and finding his way again, thinking of his five children and the love of his life any time he needed motivation. Because of his past, he understands the immense value of the people in his life – as well as of the vision that continues to guide him.Today, Rome is doing exactly that. As the President of SHOE-MGK TOUR Inc., he owns and operates six SHOE-MGK shops at mall locations in Louisiana, Alabama, and Florida. His ambition and his passion are carrying him through, as they always have, keeping focus strong and his hours lengthy. Thinking of his family first and foremost, he remains as driven as ever before, finding new and unique ways to generate revenue through all of his businesses. In August 2019, Rome expanded his business interests to Florida and Lafayette, all while devoting himself even further to his music. He also embraced graphic design more fully than ever in March 2020, just as Covid-19 was starting, and by August 2020, as businesses were reopening, it seemed that all of his ideas and ventures were coming together.

There was, of course, one more great obstacle on the horizon: Hurricane Sally struck in September, closing businesses for another month. That led Rome to focus on Tampa, which was a short-lived move, lasting only a couple of months. Through all of that, though, he came to understand what was most important to him: to maintain creative control and to serve as his own boss.

In addition to SHOE-MGK, Rome spends much of his time building his photography business with his son. Together, they specialize in event, concert, and portrait photography, putting their minds together in order to create lasting images of people and places – striving for financial freedom while also caring deeply about the work that they are doing for their clients.

Rome, even in his darkest hour, found peace and solace in creativity and entrepreneurship. Time has only strengthened his resolve, affirming his belief in the power of creativity to make people's lives better and change the world. Whether he is taking pictures or managing a project, he takes a mentor's perspective, considering what he can do to guide and empower others. He aims for greatness and then accepts nothing less of himself.

Rome, known popularly as ROMEOTHEGREAT, is also an executive producer, brand ambassador, influencer, and Tik-Tok creator, as well as the Founder of RTG Cartel. He is, before any of these titles, a family man, cherishing his children and his loving wife, who make his life as spectacular as it is and who remind him, day in and day out, why all of his work is worth the time and the energy that it takes.
