Fighting Solves Everything

From dope dealer to hope dealer

By Janice Williams Published 3 years ago 4 min read

One encounter with Joe Buckner and you will be inspired, motivated and captivated. His enthusiasm, his passion and his story is one of such hope, that you can even find his documentary presented by Lululemon and Huckberry, shown at the end of this article.

BEAUTIFULLY SAVAGE

I had the fortunate opportunity to meet Joe at a business meeting with mutual friends in Las Vegas a few years back, and was awe inspired at his faith and zealous personality. His hard work ethic and fighting spirit were evident and I was drawn in to deep conversations. We shared a love of faith and boxing and many laughs and I became a fan instantly.

You can search his name on YouTube and find a ton of videos on his story and how he conquered his situation and did not use it to define him, but instead, allowed it to fuel a fire to go from a homeless ex convict to the fighting man he is today. If you are lucky enough to meet him like I was, you would find out he is an entrepreneur, speaker, coach, ambassador, and mastermind leader but you would also find out he has a vibe, style, and aura that is easily detected within minutes of speaking with him, and you just want more. There is an honesty about him that reveals a character of a man that has made mistakes but greater than that, who appreciates where he is, because he can remember where he has been and what it took to get out of that life that he no longer wanted anything to do with.

Located in Ft. Collins Colorado, he has a successful boxing gym that has a killer approach to a HIIT workout. As a kickboxing and HIIT instructor myself, I was impressed with the workout format he put together for his classes. I was so interested in his entrepreneurial spirit that I booked a flight out to Colorado, but due to scheduling conflicts I sadly was not able to make the trip.

On his Instagram page, he is transparent in his flaws and struggles and hopes that through his openness, his followers would be inspired to work on being the best versions of themselves and not be judgmental towards one another, but lift each other up.

In that same spirit, he desires that they would not beat themselves up but would be accepting of who they are, not living in the past, but spending energy thriving to be their best. He wants to spread hope on every avenue given.

You can see through the pictures and posts, that his classes are more than just a physical workout. There is a release when you have a killer boxing workout that is unlike any other workout. If you have a coach like Joe behind you, that workout is elevated and it becomes a spiritual connection that can make you feel like you have super powers.

Joe is making an impact in this world and I know he has only scratched the surface of the many men and women he will inspire and help. One of the texts conversations Joe and I had, he said “the best way we can change the world is to focus on our own little corner of it.” His own young daughter has sought inspiration from her entrepreneurial father and is making and selling tie dye shirts as well. You can find all of his products on his Instagram page.

The best way we can change the world is to focus on our little corner of it.

He has put the hustle in. He has put in the blood, sweat and tears and he is walking in the fruits of his labor. Joe has partnered with and been featured by companies such as Huckberry, Lululemon, TedX, York Athletics, Lems Shoes, Chuze Fitness, Kali Active, and The Better Human Project.

One of the latest podcasts I discovered was from “Fit Dad Nation”, forging strong fathers and raising a stronger generation.

REBELS and GENTS

His mastermind group Rebels and Gents was formed with the mission to inspire growth and impact lives. To encourage men to raise their standards and build themselves into better men—to empower and push each other to make all parts of their lives a 10. Personally. Professionally. Physically.

Stronger men. Healthier men. Wealthier men. (Ref. Mrjoebuckner.com)

I wanted to end this with the inspiring words from Joe Buckner himself;

3 years I went from being a homeless ex-convict to becoming a 6-figure earner and then successful entrepreneur.

I’ve had to fight and scrap to make my dreams come true and now I want to help you fight for yours. No matter who you are or where you’re from, at some point life is going to take a shot at you and knock you down.

It’s at that point that you have to decide if you give up or if you stand up and fight.

I hope that you fight because everything worth having is worth fighting for.
