Exploring the Haunted Playgrounds

The Top 10 Spooky Play Areas to Avoid at All Costs

It seems like playgrounds are no longer safe for kids as they are turning into cursed places. We all thought playgrounds were fun places to be, but we were wrong.

Without further ado, let's dive into the list. Our first stop is Madison, Alabama, where there is a haunted playground that becomes unsafe once the sun sets. The park is said to be haunted by the spirits of lost children, including a brother and sister who run laps around the perimeter of the park holding hands. There have been reports of laughter and giggling from the park, but on some nights, screams can be heard, which makes it even scarier.

The Drone Park in Akron, Ohio, is another cursed playground where a drone with a speaker tried to lure kids away from the playground. Although the kids were smart enough not to follow the drone, the pilot was never caught. The Desoto Grade School Playground in Illinois is another spooky place, where the ghosts of 300 students and teachers who died in a violent tornado in the 1920s have been seen. Children's laughter and screams of "It's coming" can still be heard around the playground.

Sunland Hospital in Orlando Florida used to be a TB treatment center, which was essentially a hospice where people went to die. Later, it became an asylum where patients were subjected to inhumane experiments. Although the hospital has been shut down, the building remains, along with a playground that is said to be haunted. At night, visitors have reported hearing screams and seeing glowing orbs floating around the swings.

A clip of a haunted swing in Delhi shows it swinging by itself, while the one next to it remains still. The two men filming the video sound genuinely scared when the swing starts moving on its own. It's unclear what the backstory is behind this haunted playground, but it's possible that it's the ghost of a murdered child or just a curious ghost who wanted to swing again.

Hummel Playground and Park in Omaha, Nebraska is known for its haunted swings, as well as for sightings of ghosts all over the park. However, the most disturbing aspect of the park is the appearance of hanging bodies, which disappear when you look away. Some people believe that the ghosts are from people who were lynched in the past, while others think that dark spirits were summoned through animal sacrifices performed in the park. It's best to avoid this park altogether and take your kids to Chuck E. Cheese instead.

I believe that the teenage mutant ninja turtles might be residing underneath a playground in London. A maintenance worker reportedly found Master Splinter on this playground. Although rats don't bother me, I understand that they can be a phobia for many people. However, what concerns me most is the safety of the children playing on that playground. Rats can pose a danger to kids and could potentially harm them. If I were to place bets on a rat versus a 4-year-old child, I would put my money on the rat without any hesitation.

In Fremont, Nebraska, city planners decided to build a playground on top of an old cemetery to make use of the land. However, it appears that ghosts use it more than children. The ghost of a crying woman has been seen sitting on a bench in the park, possibly because someone damaged her headstone.

The Dead Children's Playground takes the top spot on our list. This playground is built right next to Maple Hill Cemetery in Huntsville, Alabama, and is known to be a hotspot for supernatural activity. It's not the best idea to remind kids about death while they're enjoying their youth. This park's name is a chilling reminder of the horrifying events that occurred in the 1960s. Children were abducted and their bodies were dumped in the park. The ghosts of these children are said to roam around trying to escape their attacker in an endless purgatory loop.
