ESFJ’s are one of the most popular personality types in the general population. There are far more females who have this specific personality type. Male and female ESFJ’s will certainly have a lot in common, however there are some major differences as well. ESFJ’s tend to want to fit easily with society so they will go to great lengths to fit into their own perceived gender roles. People with this personality type are very outgoing, gregarious, fun-loving, warm, friendly, emotional, sensitive, and somewhat dramatic at times. ESFJ’s are well-liked by most people which is a good thing because there are a lot of them in the world!

ESFJ’s are usually make great parents who will do almost anything for their children. In fact, they will often times dote on their children to unhealthy levels. The ESFJ parent may actually do too much for their children, especially as their children get older and should really be developing more independence. ESFJ’s may struggle with being a helicopter parent, but they do mean well because they just want the very best for their children.

Most of the time ESFJ’s cannot keep still and will constantly be going, coming, or working with their hands in some way. They can be very creative people when they are in the right frame of mind. ESFJ’s will always be excited for planning a party or hosting celebrations in their homes. Female ESFJ’s can come across as being a little ditsy, though some male ESFJ’s are ditsy as well. One of the reasons that they come across as being ditsy is because they are quick respondents to things, they just react to life as it comes. For other personality types the ESFJ may seem very illogical with many of their actions. However, the ESFJ is very focused on making decisions based on their personal value systems. When something does not make sense to them, then you can usually tell right away by their facial expressions or their voices going up a few pitches.

ESFJ’s typically enjoy giving and receiving gifts from friends and family members; they love the holidays for this reason. Many ESFJ’s enjoy cooking and making special sweet treats because they like giving food to other people and the experience of tasting new foods. ESFJ’s are usually very committed to their families and will sacrifice to great lengths if it is for their loved ones.

They personality type may have a lot of insecurities which is why they tend to thrive on words of affirmation. Sometimes they will become overly discouraged if they do not receive the praise and gratitude they think they deserve. One of their biggest needs in life is just for people to appreciate them and verbalize that appreciation. One of their weaknesses is that they can tend to be manipulative in nature. They are extremely skillful at giving people guilt trips in order to manipulate other people’s emotions. Other, more intuitive, personality types may become a little exhausted just by being around ESFJ’s for an extended amount of time because of their high energy levels and antsy tendencies. ESFJ’s sometimes can be too quick to judge other people and make quick assessments of other people’s actions before they know all of the details.

ESFJ’s love visual, factual, statistical information and they learn best by having their five senses in constant stimulation. Many ESFJ’s enjoy Pinterest and anything that has lots of pictures and interesting things to look at. Many ESFJ’s may be addicted to watching the news, or various weather channels. If ESFJ's are not stimulated, then they will become bored easily and search for something exciting or interesting to experience.

Overall, there are a lot of positive things about the ESFJ personality type and everyone should have either a few friends or close family members in their life who possess this type.
