Dear Grandiose Fellow Human, No Living Being Is Your Slave. Will You Ever Stop and Do Some Self-Introspection?

Okay, I will not make this story about a hopeless cause! I gave up on abusers/manipulators a long time ago…

“Justice delayed is justice denied” — William E. Gladstone.

In the quality of a deep believer in principled authenticity and unapologetic truth-telling, I had no choice but to share this heartbreaking story with you, dear reader.

I feel I owe it to my new friend, along with all the innocent beings subjected to injustice around the globe; and boy, how many they are — be it fellow humans, the magical animals, or any other living organism!

On a side note, the former me used to adore flower bouquets and fantasize about getting a panoply of them as a surprise like in the most romantic — to be read grandiose love-bombing shows in many cases — stories!

Today, I speak up loudly about loving to see flowers exclusively on their trees. Naturally, I don’t offer bouquets anymore, no matter what others’ expectations could be.

I finished my Body Combat class and was on my way back to my car when I was stopped most enthusiastically and gently by a Pit Bull.

I received his hugs and kisses with a heart filled with gratitude translated into the same words I would use with humans.

Also, his mesmerizing playfulness gave birth to loud laughs until I noticed a detail that broke my heart into a million pieces: The sweet dog was wearing a stainless steel chain and tied to the wall.

For those of you who are honoring me and stopping by for the very first time, you might want to know I am an unconditional lover of all animals on Mother Earth, including cockroaches, mosquitoes, fungi — you name it!

Consequently, I would always fight to whatever possible extent for their right to be part of the ecosystem and be treated decently… Okay maybe except when those organisms harm other species.

I am talking from a place of experience since my four fur kids and I dealt with fungus invasion for almost three months. They disfigured my babies. We have been coping with multiple side effects up to this very moment.

Coming back to the story, I am guessing my concerned facial expression caught the attention of two security guards who were observing the scene from a car nearby:

What’s wrong? We have been a little worried about you in the beginning! The Pit Bull is quite dangerous!

Is he? Then, why am I not feeling endangered? Do you think I would have received all those hugs and kisses from a dangerous creature? Can’t you see his tail? Didn’t you hear my laughs? They feel. They know.

Maybe you’re right… (with an embarrassed body language)

What is the purpose of using the stainless steel chain?

Well, he is currently in service.

I beg your pardon? What do you mean?

I mean the residence owner brought him to work and protect his belonging.

Did the Pit Bull apply for the position? Is he getting paid?

(A moment of awkward silence).

I know you have nothing to do with it! It’s not personal! I’m just too pissed off! No one in the world is entitled to exploit a free soul! No single animal on earth deserves to be treated as an object or a slave!

My friend interrupts me with more hugs and kisses; thus, triggering an uncontrolled flow of tears! I tightly hugged him back. At some point, he saw my hat pom-pom, got excited, and decided it would be his toy!

See? The “dangerous” dog is merely looking for some attention and play!

Those were my last words before leaving. Knowing he can feel without any filter, I couldn’t permit myself to vehiculate my sadness to my new cherished friend…

By saying what I said to the security staff, I hoped to plant a seed of awareness in their heart. Who knows? Maybe… just maybe, it could one day flourish and impact the generations unborn in some way!

Last Words

As you may have figured out, the story is not destined for perpetrators.

"Myriam, when the Universe presented you with a choice, you choose to answer with love. It does not matter what others think, you follow your conscience, always lead from your heart. That people can be cruel to animals is beyond heartbreaking. Karma will deal with them. You spoke your truth, and what happens from that point is their lesson to learn." — Pockett Dessert

I couldn’t agree any more with those gems of wisdom in my adored fellow writer and friend feedback above to one of my most treasured pieces.

What I didn’t explicitly share last time and that I am choosing to do now is that both titles are only meant to be thought-provoking.

I don’t even care about getting a perpetrator to do the right thing. I gave up on their ability to self-introspect at all. They are not my problem anymore.

All I care about is doing my tiny part in leaving some impact on inherently good folks. Only them are capable of driving real change.

Questioning the ingrained limiting beliefs we have been taking for the absolute truth because of our lifetime of conditioning that shut down the human endowment we call self-awareness is a good start!
