DEADPOOL 3 IS FLOP?

The Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to grow in strength and scale.

Fans have been speculating about the Deadpool franchise's future ever since Disney acquired 20th Century Fox in March 2019. This is especially true given the enormous success the franchise had with the release of both the 2016 original picture and its 2018 sequel.

But fear not, fans of superheroes! Deadpool 3, which is expected to make its MCU debut this year, is in good hands with Ryan Reynolds playing the title role. Reynolds will not only collaborate with Marvel Studios but also get to work again with the film's director, Shawn Levy. Who else is participating in this, by the way? And Hugh Jackman, naturally.

Reynolds and Jackman shared a picture of themselves as Deadpool and Wolverine on their Instagram Stories in July 2023. The two performers were walking towards the camera in the photo, which was taken during a London scene shoot. Reynolds and Jackman wrote, "Don't blink," below the picture.

Reynolds released the first teaser trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine, which further hints at the premise of the upcoming film, during the 2024 Super Bowl.

1. What can we expect from Deadpool 3?

Although the official synopsis for Deadpool 3 gives away very little about the plot, it seems to centre on Wolverine, who is "recovering from his injuries when he crosses paths with the loudmouth, Deadpool." In the end, they choose to "unite to overcome a shared foe."

There will be plenty of action, in typical MCU form! In an October 2022 interview with PEOPLE, Jackman reaffirmed this fact and added, "I'll probably have more fun on this movie than any other I've ever done."

"I believe that working on set with Ryan every day and seeing the two of them together every day in every place... Jackman exclusively told PEOPLE, "I think it's fair to say they'll be punching the s--- out of each other the whole time."

The actor revisited the project in January 2022, describing it as a unique experience for his character and taking place before the events of the 2017 film Logan.

"There's a dynamic that I've never really had to do before as Wolverine when I think of Deadpool and Wolverine, of me and Ryan, the two iconic enemies in comic books. It occurred to me, "This is going to be fun." an action I have never taken before. I'm eager.

2. Adding to the cast of Deadpool 3 is who?

While Reynold's confirmed that Taylor Swift will not be appearing in Deadpool 3, he did announce that Hugh Jackman will return to the character of Wolverine, with whom he has become associated since the X-Men film from 2000.

This will be Jackman's tenth appearance as the clawed character; the last one was in James Mangold's grimy, Rrated Logan from 2017. Nonetheless, Reynolds is committed to giving the character's Deadpool debut a fresh air, even with his extensive history as Wolverine.

Reynolds revealed the cast of Deadpool 3 on Valentine's Day in 2023. Emma Corrin is best recognised for her Emmy-nominated role as Princess Diana in The Crown. The Hollywood Reporter notes that while the character's specifics are unknown, it is thought to be the villain.

Twenty years after costarring with Ryan Reynolds in 2003's Daredevil, Jennifer Garner, who previously starred with Reynolds in The Adam Project, will take on the role of Elektra once more, according to a July 2023 story from The Hollywood Reporter.
