Dating a Brother from the Midwest

Rid yourself of Popcorn Negotiations

Since my relocation of varies cities here in the US, I have come to the confirmation that brothers in the Midwest are built differently. I am going to speak for the majority because I know there are some case studies out there that may go against the statistics. I have LIVE and not visited just about every region of the United States in my lifetime. Over time, I have always enjoyed the observation of the social environment and it has always been surprising to me how women relate to men.

There is certainly a difference when it comes to dating decorum in the comparison of men when it comes to a brother from the "Chi" or "Mo-town" vs a man from "NY" or the "Dirty South". No pun on the men to other areas, but the Midwest man is from a different cut and most women (admittingly or not) desire a traditional man to take charge and it's hard to find that man outside of the Midwest upbringing.

Sorry brothers, I call a "spade" a "spade" and I deal with things as they are. When it comes to dating, as a general rule, there is no comparison to a brother from Detroit or Chicago that will give you the ultimate experience. When it comes to opening doors and paying for meals (asking nothing in return) there is no comparison to a Midwest brother. This theory has been clinically tested, and woman-approved! We have been taught manners as Midwesterner men. We know how to pull chairs and open doors, for starters.

Unlike the comparison of men who expect women to pay for dates, or not even ask women for a traditional date because some men expect something in return. Don't get me confused with the standard! We as Midwestern man expect something in return, but we are not for the playing games and spending time on an empty promise.

I really think most men who do not spend time dating and playing games are men from the Midwest. We are men who look and explore for women who will not waste our time and have something worth exploring, Midwest men are the "table" and we look for women to add to what we already have. A Midwest man will not submit to that "date them all, sis" mentality. I know that social medial and life experiences has told a vast majority of women this is the normal vibe, but I caution any women with a desire to find a REAL man, to drop this mentality as soon as possible.

I know! The concept is to date a man with a wallet, and to each is own. Whatever the experience, I am not trying to debate it. I just know that when a women is exposed to a man from the Midwest, she will experience the following:

He will give you his last!

He will walk in snow for you (y'all don't understand this point)

That brother will work three jobs for you and won't worry about sleep!

That brother will look at the worse situation, and still develop a plan that will put you both on top.

That brother was taught to open doors!

He was taught to protect his woman!

He is taught to love his woman, no matter the circumstances.

He is taught that seasons come, and seasons go; but his love for that solid woman will never change.

However, saying what a Midwestern man is willing to do for a woman, what is a woman willing to do for a Midwestern man? Measure who what kind of man that is to be desired and then consider if the character matches to what a Midwestern man possesses.

Measure what is desired and make sure there is a match in your character. Date a Midwest brother, but please be able to step up to the plate!
