I got this email recently asking what the dangers of being a sugar baby. This is an amazing question and I'm surprised I hadn't done this post or maybe I did, and this reader didn't find it and I forgot. Before we begin this post, I am not writing this to scare anyone away from being a sugar baby or sugar daddy/mama. We will also be looking at the dangers of sugar daddies/mommies.

Before we begin let's remind ourselves of what sugar babies and sugar daddies/mommies are. Sugar babies are those who date the sugar daddies/mommies for money. It has turned into something else recently. The current meaning probably doesn't even resemble true sugar.

Let's talk about the problems not by the group it effects but the problem itself. This will make it easier.

The first issue is kidnapping. Both sugar babies and sugar daddies/mommies could be kidnapped. Why would this happen? With the sugar daddies/ mommies whoever is doing the kidnapping is wanting money. If someone is kidnapping a sugar baby could be kidnapped into human trafficking.

Human trafficking is a huge issue that will probably only effect sugar babies. It will also primarily effect women. Why would a sugar daddy or mommy do this? To make money. You never know how these people make their money. So you have to be very careful.

Anyone in this lifestyle could be murdered. It could either be revenge or money related. There are greedy and jealous people in this lifestyle. I will recommend getting an "if I go missing" folder.

Anyone in this lifestyle could be scammed. Babies could be scammed by fake daddies/ mommies who promise the world but don't deliver. Sugar daddies/mommies can be scammed by babies who are catfishing them. This is why I don't recommend online or virtual arrangements for anyone.

Anyone in the lifestyle could also be black mailed. This could be about pictures, money or objects. Don't send nudes especially as a young woman this could ruin you in the long run.

So let's talk about how to stop these things from happening.

Be very careful about sending pictures, money and certain information like address to people you don't know. Never share banking information even if you know the person.

If you're going to meet people have a safe person to tell where you're going. Share you location with safe people. Also invest in an "if I go missing" notebook. These are small things you can do that are inexpensive. There are also jewelry companies that make items with basically panic buttons on them. If you press the button, it will send a text to like 5 people.

One thing that I will continue to say is stick to the sites and apps that are made for sugar (seeking arrangements, miss travel, secret benefits, etc.) because you are more likely to find what you are looking for on there. You are also less likely to get scammed. Plus there is a problem you can report it and get help from those who know the lifestyle like the back of their hand. That is a huge benefit. Sites like fetlife and dating sites are not meant for sugar lifestyle. You would not go to pep boys to get your phone fixed so why would you use a site that isn't built for what you need. On sugar sites you will have to shift through a scam here and there but that's better than shifting through hundreds of people that don't even want sugar.

Use you intuition especially as a woman, you know what you should and shouldn't do. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is. Be safe out there!
