The Hide Behind
Ever hear of the Hide Behind? I have, and I'm lucky to be able to tell the tale about my crazy encounter I had one day while I was out in the woods. It was a warm summer morning when I decided that I needed a little fresh air and adventure. I had just left my incredibly stressful job of six years as a case manager for the elderly. I packed my bags, broke my lease, broke up with my bum boyfriend, and moved back home with my parents. It was a huge step for me as I had been out of my parents' house since I was 18. They lived in a really cute part of Maine that was basically in the middle of nowhere. It was perfect and exactly where I needed to be to figure out my future.

It was a beautiful fall day. Cool temps with a slight breeze that played with your hair, lots and lots of sun, A perfect day. A day Amber King would normally be singing some sappy song, while doing her errands.

What's better for the holidays than spending time with your family under a big green Christmas tree looking at the sparkly lights. Well, for little miss Scarlett, this was a different more depressing story. It all started a few weeks before Christmas while 10-year-old Scarlett was at school with her friends making the traditional Christmas ornaments they make every year. All of her friend’s sighed as they squirt some glue on their crappy little snowflakes made out of popsicle sticks and construction paper.

For the most part, Earth's land has been explored and discovered to its entirety. We think we know most of the world, but in fact, we don't. Around 70 percent of Earth's waters have not been fully explored—and that means we really don't know what lurks in the watery depths.

The Thirteen Most Terrifying Ghosts of the Ghostbusters Cartoons
Originally broadcast from 1986 to 1992, The Real Ghostbusters is one of the most fondly remembered and beloved children's cartoon series ever. Based on the original 1984 movie, Ghostbusters, it reworked the characters and concepts to make them more acceptable for impressionable young minds. Well, in theory at least... In reality, The Real Ghostbusters featured an array of phantasms and nightmare scenarios that would chill a generation of kids and stick in their minds forever. The early years of the series (the original thirteen-episode season and the very long syndicated run that followed, here referred to as season two) in particular pulled no punched when presenting children with genuinely chilling monsters and stories. While the series became more overtly aimed at younger children as it went on, even some of the later episodes featured memorably unsettling baddies. In 1997, the sequel series Extreme Ghostbusters arrived, and its creators seemed to be on a mission to make the most gruesome horror material that they could legally get away with on children's television.

Life in a Horror Movie
“It’s just a dream, it’s just a dream.” I shut my eyes and pinch myself harder this time hoping I’ll awake from this horrendous nightmare. 3… 2…1… my eyes open to see myself back in my room. The warmth of my bed comforts me and the sight of my small yet cozy room gives me a sense of peace. There’s nothing I want more than to get rid of the images I saw in my head. People were still alive as peculiar creatures had cut them open with butcher knives or anything they could get their hands on. Blood curling screams filled the building from those who were tortured alive. There were children there, girls. With their blonde hair pinned up in pigtails, their dresses as white as snow, their eyes as blue as sapphires; you too would mistake them for being innocent and pure. Evil filled that place; there was nothing hopeful about it. Everything was either being killed or was already deceased. All I know is that I do not wish to go back to sleep, for I dread what might fill my head again.

It started when I was eleven. I remember my age easily throughout the nightmares, due to the fact we moved so much. Whichever house I dreamt in, was usually a different year of my life.

Once upon a time a completely normal girl sat at home, relishing in the warmth of the blanket she had covered herself with. She sat on her couch, gripping her phone in her hands texting away to her friends. They chatted about school, they chatted about their teachers, and their peers. A specific one in fact, her name was Veronica, she didn’t have many friends and she wasn’t conventionally pretty. However she was super smart and extremely kind but what does that matter? She was ugly and unpopular, nothing compared to the completely normal girl named Sadie sitting under a blanket on her couch. But somehow, the boy Sadie had a crush on was drawn to Veronica. They were rarely seen without each other and this angered Sadie, she was prepared to make Veronica’s life a living hell. What right did Veronica have to take him away from Sadie? Why couldn’t he see how worthless Veronica was compared to the completely normal girl sitting on her couch?
