Seize The Day
Dali Heart was stuck in a time loop. It wasn't as sanity crushing as others might think. She honestly hadn’t even realized she’d been in one until three weeks, when she suddenly realized how strange everything was. Dali had been in a rut for most of her adult life- wake up, go to work, rewatch Briscoe County, sleep. But eventually, Dali realized that something was very wrong. It dawned on her after she had tried to steer a conversation with her mother to another topic, and her mother started stuttering, until she eventually forcefully returned the conversation back to their original topic. A topic they'd discussed the day before, and the day before that. Then she realized that the date never changed . . . and she was reliving the same day.

The biting keen of the coyote's howl is the most terrifying sound you can hear out on the high grassland on a moonlight night. The coyote song is far scarier than the raspy shiver of a rattlesnake, yet an experienced trailhand can overcome his apprehension and cope with the threat. Also, do not equate it to the howl of a wolf. The wolfpack's song is this powerful, hulking cry, a frightening noise that reflects the animal's primal drive to mark its territory. While the coyote song is a sound of grief, it is a terrifying sound. If you're in the wrong spot when you hear it, it may be what happens. It is discordant and haunting and cries out for the dead to rise and dance to its strange song.

Persistence
The boy’s hand shook as he lit the candles surrounding him. As he read from the book he tried to project an air of confidence in his voice although a small tremble betrayed him. He was mostly successful in his attempts to suppress his whimper as he pierced his palm with the scalpel he’d pocketed from Biology class and let a few drops of blood fall on the symbols he’d carved into the floorboards of his bedroom. After a few seconds, the room began to fill with a yellowish smoke and the boy pulled his jumper up over his nose and mouth in a futile attempt not to inhale the stench of rotten eggs. Soon a booming voice pierced his ears and a gargantuan shape began to form in the mist.
