The cursed object
Ava had always loved antique shops. The old- world charm of the particulars, the stories they held, and the recollections that lay dormant within them always fascinated her. She had been visiting relic stores since she was a youthful girl with her grandmother, who had an emotional collection of quaint dolls. It was one similar store that she set up a beautiful puritanical glass, and she knew that she had to have it.

A Surprise
I wink at a beautiful girl as she walks by me. I roll my eyes when she doesn't acknowledge me, girls have gotten so rude. She has no idea how stupendous I am, if she did she obviously wouldn't have passed me by like that. I sit back down at my desk after getting coffee in the break room. I smile softly to myself as I dial the next number. "Hello, is this, Emma Smith?" I ask, when the woman picks up. "This is she," she answers. "I'm Marcus, from Home Safety and-" I'm cut off when she so rudely hangs up before I can even finish. I finish my coffee in one swig and get up. That was the last name on my list for today. I turn my sales sheet into my boss, and head home.

"Through the Broken Mirror: Confronting Our Fears"
Once upon a time, in a land far away, there was a kingdom ruled by a powerful queen. She was feared by her enemies and adored by her people. One day, a young girl named Alice came to the queen's court seeking refuge from the terrors of her past. The queen, being merciful, granted Alice her wish and took her in as her own. As time passed, Alice grew up in the queen's court and became a trusted advisor. She was loved by the people and respected by the queen. However, Alice had a dark secret that she kept hidden from everyone. She had a mirror that was broken, and every time she looked into it, she saw a distorted image of herself. One day, while the queen was away on a diplomatic mission, Alice stumbled upon an old book that revealed the truth about the broken mirror. It was said that whoever looked into the mirror would see their darkest fears and desires. Alice, being curious, decided to look into the mirror to see what it would reveal. What Alice saw in the mirror terrified her. She saw a version of herself that was twisted and evil, a version that wanted to take over the kingdom and destroy everything she held dear. Alice tried to look away, but the image in the mirror only grew stronger and more vivid. Alice realized that the mirror was not just a reflection of her fears and desires, but a doorway to a dark and terrifying realm. She knew that if she didn't do something, the evil version of herself would break through and wreak havoc on the kingdom. Alice made a decision that would change her life forever. She decided to confront her fears and enter the realm beyond the mirror. Armed with nothing but her wits and her courage, she plunged into the dark unknown. The realm beyond the mirror was a twisted and distorted version of the kingdom she knew so well. Everything was twisted and distorted, and the people were not who they seemed. Alice knew that she had to find a way to defeat the evil version of herself and save the kingdom. As Alice journeyed deeper into the realm, she encountered many dangers and obstacles. But with each challenge, she grew stronger and more determined. She fought fierce battles against the minions of the evil Alice and slowly made her way to the heart of the realm. At last, Alice faced her darkest fears and confronted the evil version of herself. The battle was long and grueling, but in the end, Alice emerged victorious. She destroyed the mirror and banished the evil version of herself back to the realm beyond the mirror. When Alice returned to the kingdom, she was hailed as a hero. The queen, who had returned from her diplomatic mission, praised Alice for her bravery and her selflessness. From that day forward, Alice was no longer haunted by her fears and was able to live a happy and fulfilling life. And the broken mirror remained a distant memory, a reminder of the darkness that lay within us all and the courage it takes to confront it. Years passed, and Alice became a respected member of the queen's court. She had put the realm beyond the mirror behind her and focused on serving the kingdom. However, something strange began to happen. Every time Alice passed by a mirror, she caught a glimpse of a figure lurking in the shadows behind her reflection. At first, she thought it was just her imagination, but the figure became more and more vivid with each passing day. Alice began to feel like she was being watched, like something was stalking her from the other side of the mirror. She knew that it couldn't be the evil version of herself, as she had destroyed the mirror and banished it to the other realm. Alice confided in the queen about her fears, and together, they decided to investigate the matter. They consulted the same book that had revealed the truth about the broken mirror and discovered something startling. The book spoke of a curse that was placed upon the kingdom many years ago. The curse was said to be a result of a powerful witch's wrath, and it was meant to torment the people of the kingdom for generations to come. The curse stated that whoever broke a mirror would be haunted by a figure from the other realm for the rest of their life. The figure would stalk them from behind every mirror they passed, watching and waiting for the right moment to strike. Alice realized that she had broken the mirror in the realm beyond the mirror, and the curse was now upon her. She knew that she had to find a way to break the curse before it was too late. Together with the queen and a group of brave warriors, Alice journeyed to the place where the witch who cast the curse was said to be buried. They found her tomb deep in the heart of a dark forest, guarded by ancient magic. The queen and the warriors battled fiercely against the witch's minions, while Alice made her way to the tomb. She found the curse written on a piece of parchment and knew that she had to destroy it. Alice used all her courage and strength to break the curse, and with a mighty blow, she shattered the parchment. The curse was lifted, and the figure that had been haunting her disappeared. Alice returned to the kingdom, hailed as a hero once again. She had faced her fears and broken the curse that had plagued the kingdom for generations. And the broken mirror remained a distant memory, a reminder of the darkness that lay within us all and the courage it takes to confront it.

The Mirror from Beyond
The mirror showed a reflection that wasn't my ownIt was as if I was looking at a different version of myself, one that was slightly off-kilter. The reflection stared back at me with empty eyes, its expression a twisted mockery of my own. I tried to turn away, but something held me in place. I reached out to touch the glass, and my fingers grazed something cold and slick. A shiver ran down my spine as the surface of the mirror began to ripple like water. The reflection of myself started to blur, and then it was gone. In its place, I saw a world that was not my own. It was a dark and twisted place, full of shadows and creatures that should not exist. The air was thick with the stench of decay, and the ground was slick with blood. In the distance, I could hear the sound of screams. I tried to step back, but my feet were rooted to the spot. The mirror had me in its grasp, and I was powerless to resist. As I watched, the twisted world on the other side of the glass began to bleed into my own. At first, it was just small things. A flicker of movement out of the corner of my eye, a whisper in my ear that I couldn't quite make out. But soon, the changes became more pronounced. Objects would move on their own, and I would catch glimpses of things that shouldn't be there. The mirror seemed to have a life of its own, and it was drawing me further and further into its twisted reality. I could feel my mind slipping away, as I became more and more lost in the world on the other side of the glass. I knew that I had to break free from the mirror's grasp before it was too late. But every time I tried to pull away, it seemed to hold me tighter. I was trapped, caught between two worlds, neither of which I wanted to be a part of. In the end, I was consumed by the mirror's power. The twisted reality it had revealed to me became my own, and I was lost to it forever. And as I stared out from behind the glass, I knew that others would follow me, drawn in by the haunting beauty of the mirror's deadly allure.Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months. I was no longer living in my world but in the distorted one reflected in the mirror. It was a world where everything was wrong, where the sky was always blood-red, and the air was always heavy with the smell of death. The creatures that lurked in the shadows were now my only companions. I would roam the dark alleys and abandoned buildings, searching for any sign of life, but all I found were twisted, monstrous beings that had no place in this world. It was during one of these excursions that I stumbled upon a group of people. They were huddled together in a corner, their faces pale with fear. I recognized one of them. It was my sister. I tried to speak to her, to tell her that we needed to leave this place and go back to our world, but she just looked at me with vacant eyes. She didn't seem to recognize me at all. I realized then that I had been too late. The mirror had already claimed her, and she was now lost in this twisted reality forever. As the days went by, I became more and more aware of the mirror's power. I knew that I needed to break its hold on me and find a way back to my own world. One night, as I was wandering through the twisted city, I found myself standing in front of the mirror once again. This time, however, I was determined to break free. I reached out and touched the glass, focusing all of my will on breaking its hold on me. Slowly but surely, the mirror began to lose its grip, and the distorted world began to fade away. In the end, I managed to break free of the mirror's grasp and return to my own world. But the memory of that twisted reality still haunted me, and I knew that I would never be the same again. I tried to warn others about the mirror's power, but nobody seemed to listen. It was as if they were all drawn to it, just as I had been. And so, I was left alone with my memories, haunted by the knowledge that the mirror was still out there, waiting to claim its next victim.Months went by, and I tried my best to move on from the horrors that I had witnessed. But no matter how hard I tried, I could never forget the twisted reality that had been revealed to me through the mirror. One day, as I was walking through the city, I saw a group of people gathered around something. Curious, I approached them and saw that they were looking at a mirror. It was the same one that had haunted me for so long. I tried to warn them, to tell them of the horrors that lay on the other side, but they didn't believe me. They saw the mirror as a curiosity, a thing of beauty, and nothing more. As I watched, the mirror's surface began to ripple and blur, just as it had done so many months ago. I knew what was coming, but there was nothing I could do to stop it. The twisted reality on the other side of the mirror began to bleed into our world once again. Creatures appeared from the shadows, and the air grew thick with the stench of decay. The people around me panicked, but I knew that there was no escape. The mirror had claimed me once, and it was now claiming them too. As the twisted reality consumed us all, I knew that I had failed to save them. I had failed to warn them of the mirror's power, and now they were lost to it forever. And as I stared out from behind the glass, I knew that I was no longer alone. The mirror had claimed us all, and we were now trapped in its twisted reality for all eternity.

Caterpillar Chow
The mirror showed a reflection that wasn't my own. An unfamiliar profile in comparison to the one standing in photos taped to the frame. Bending to examine the hollows of her eyes, I stood at odds against her. The stoppered faucet between us began to drip itself dry.

Reflections of Terror: The Haunted Mirror
It was a beautiful antique mirror, ornately framed with delicate carvings that seemed to tell a story of their own. When Emma inherited the mirror from her grandmother, she was thrilled. She'd always loved old things, and the mirror had a certain allure that she couldn't resist.
