Shattered Mirror And Myself
“The mirror showed a reflection that wasn't my own.” Thando had been searching for the perfect decorative piece to add to her Gothic-style bedroom for quite some time now, and when she came across an old mirror with intricate carvings around the edges at an antique shop, she knew she had finally found what she wanted. She took the mirror home and hung it on her wall, admiring its beauty and intricate details. But what she didn't expect was the strange feeling of dread that soon followed. At night, when she would look into the mirror, Thando noticed a slight distortion in the reflection that slowly changed over time.

The Man in the Mirror
The mirror showed a reflection that wasn’t my own. It was, yet it wasn’t. At first it was nothing serious, nothing to worry about. Just a flicker of an eyelid, barely noticeable in the beginning. Was it my eyelid flickering, or the reflection? Hard to tell. The strange feeling that the mirror was watching me was what had prompted me to make the purchase, naturally. I’ve always leaned towards the odd, the strange. The unfamiliar. This mirror, with its slightly brighter-than-the-real-world colouring, had fit the bill nicely. A neighbour’s yard sale had brought me out from the depths of my home, investigating the refuse of someone else’s life like some kind of garbage-fossicking wild beast.

Let Me Out
The mirror showed a reflection that wasn’t my own. It was my face, but there was something dark about its presence. Almost sinister-like. The reflection mirrored my movements, my mannerisms, but the eyes looked hollow and empty. And the smile… just slightly curled upwards as I stared back in horror. And I swear, as I turned away, the reflection remained still, watching me leave.

The Widow's Call. Top Story - January 2024.
The mirror showed a reflection that wasn’t my own. Percy obscured the foreground, followed by Donaghue, and finally myself in the rear. We rocked in the belly of a merchant vessel bound for the Royal coast; the mirror was the first piece of cargo stumbled upon in our pursuit of transport treasure.

The Shattered Reflection
The mirror showed a reflection that wasn't my own. I blinked, rubbed my eyes, and looked again, but the stranger continued to stare back at me, his gaze unwavering. The man in the mirror was an older version of myself, weathered and worn, with deep creases etched into his face. He bore a chilling smile, his eyes filled with darkness.

Inner Demons
It was a dark and stormy night, and I was lying in bed, tossing and turning as I battled with my emotions. On one side, there was "Me," the rational and logical side of myself, trying to keep everything under control. On the other side, there was "I," the emotional and impulsive side of myself, driving me to the brink of insanity.

Behind the Veil
The mirror showed a reflection that wasn't my own. It was subtle at first, a slight distortion, but it was definitely there. I tried to shake it off, dismissing it as a trick of the light or my imagination gone wild. But each time I looked in the mirror, the reflection became more and more vivid until it was undeniably a different person staring back at me. It was a woman, with dark hair and piercing blue eyes. She looked practically identical to me, except for one thing - her expression. It was sinister, a twisted grin that sent shivers down my spine.

The Broken Mirror
One day, I noticed that the mirror was showing me a reflection that wasn't mine. Instead, I saw a woman with dark hair and a face that looked familiar but also unsettling. As I tried to touch the glass, the mirror began to glow and the woman's reflection started to move, as if she was trying to break free from the glass. Suddenly, the mirror shattered and I fell backward, feeling my heart pounding in my chest.
