Reed Alexander's Horror Review of 'Zombie With A Shotgun' (2019)
Yeah, this was fun. As many of my readers well know, my wife watches a lot of horror movies with me, and one of our favorite things to do is riff the movie we're watching. It's one of the ways I know a movie has riffing potential. Of course this movie, being a shoe-string indie, had all kinds of riffable material. It's like the trope my wife coined "ForeCaging," (named after the hammy acting of Nicolas Cage) which means "Foreshadowing riff worthy material from the setup."

I’m really not sure where to start with this one because I absolutely loved every minute of it! I have been a fan of Darcy Coates ever since I read her book “Craven Manor” last summer. There is just something about the way that she writes that can beautifully and so vividly pull you into the universe that she creates on the page. With Coates’ amazing ability to craft a story that sucks you in, I found myself unable to put this book down.

Is Junji Ito just "gross" horror?
I happened to purusing through YouTube to find some Junji Ito stories to read, and I found this video about how overrated Junji Ito was, I was fair and I watched the video on his stance. The main point was that his work was just "gross". I could understand the fact because of most of Junji Ito's work does involve some uncomfortable moments of what happens to someone, a terrifying transformation, or an unfathomable demise to a character. As a fan of Junji Ito's I immediately was on the fence about this argumentative fact, but I am a neutral person, I see this from both sides.

Creatures of Embyria
Creatures of Embyria Kaylyn lay awake, staring out the window of the makeshift hospital room, overlooking the peaceful sleeping city of Embyra. The moon was full tonight, it illuminated far into the distance. She could make out the Watchmen walking the ramparts and the faint glow of fire from the war waging just beyond the city walls. Running her hand across the bandages around her head feeling for the wound underneath, she thought of her friends and comrades still out there fighting and longed to join them again. She prayed for their safety and that they would survive the night. She sat in a room with three other wounded soldiers. They were survivors of the most recent battle against the Shathi Tribesmen. In the bed opposite her slept Joven, a small wiry man from the South lands. He sustained major slash wounds across his chest and arms. Kaylyn remembered being awoken by his pleading with medics that he could still fight as they were being carted away from the battlefield to the relative safety Embyra. There was also Kade, a man Kaylyn didn't know beyond that he'd worked logistics and somehow suffered a leg injury. Finally, there was Bando, who was large thickly muscled and stood a head taller than any other man she'd ever seen. He was renowned as one of the fiercest warriors in the Embyrian army, a veteran of dozens of battles. Naturally she was surprised to find him among the injured.

Bobo the Clown
The clown business sure isn't what it used to be, thought Bobo taking the last drag off his cigarette before throwing it out the window of his all but broken-down Volkswagen Bug. You're gonna be a fuckin' star you know that? he said looking at his reflection in the rear-view mirror. He adjusted his big red nose and dirty bow tie, turning his face side to side. His caked-on makeup was already beginning to run down onto his clothes. Bobo wiped it on his hand, the white paint smearing on his dry cracked skin. The clown gave a wide smile full of crooked yellow teeth and picked a bit of who knows what out before putting on his stained gloves and leaning into the door to open it. One more for good luck! he reached over to the floor of the passenger side, rummaging through some trash, picking up a bottle and holding it up - Empty! he cursed as he threw it over his shoulder into the backseat. The clang of glass hitting glass echoed in the small car. He eventually found what he was looking for, a grime covered bottle of gin, A little bit of liquid courage! He picked off some hair, spun the cap off and drank deeply, Gulp... Gulp...Gulp... ahhhh that's the stuff! Woo! These kids aren't ready for you Bobo! Nobody can do what you do! it was his usual pump up speech. He leaned back over to the door and with a hard push and a loud creek it swung open and Bobo fell out of the car and onto the street, towards his next gig.

Live-Reaction Movie Review: Rosa Leigh
Alright, I am writing this review as I watch Rosa Leigh, so bear with me. Apparently, Rosa Leigh was a troubled child who lied about her teacher putting his hands on her. The teacher found her near the stairs and pushed her down the stairs. The school janitor saw everything and tried to intervene, only to fall over the railing with the teacher. All three died, and the school closed down.

Water Bottle
I entered the classroom a little bored. Today we were revising a few things in order to prepare for the final exam and, even though I was a little worried about my recent productivity, I simply didn’t feel like listening to the teacher. She was really intelligent and I usually liked her lectures, but today, I just wanted to crawl into bed and sleep. I want to clarify I was not depressed, I was just not in the mood.
