Nightmare Journal: Pig Tails
Laying in my bed I had woken up from the feeling of a presence. I opened my groggy eyes to see I was wrong, no one was there, so I shut them again. My brain wanted to turn off but the feeling of being watched wouldn’t budge. I looked around for a second time but all I saw was the morning sun peaking through the windows, creating a large rectangle on the wall where the shadow of my bed painted itself. I thought, I should get more rest, so I set off to do just that.

Chapter 3 - Michelle
TW: References to domestic violence Frankie curled up as soon as I put him to bed, hugging his tattered, stuffed bear close to his chest. Between the excitement of meeting our neighbor and the unbearable heat, the poor little guy was wiped out. I quietly closed the door behind me and made my way back into the living room to straighten up before Frank got home. The red numbers on the cable box read 8:04pm; he was expected back soon. After rounding up the mess of toys scattered across the floor, I sat at the kitchen table to enjoy the silence before leaving for work. Putting together the remaining scraps of that night’s dinner on a plate, I looked at the disappointing excuse of a meal and hoped that he would just eat it without complaint. I couldn’t help but laugh at my own misguided optimism. Has he ever done anything without complaint?

It Comes With The Moon
Ryan screamed with the pain as his body began to contort and change. What was happening to him and who was laughing ? The maniacal laughter rang in his ears and grew more distinct and unavoidable to hear as his ears changed along with the rest of his body.

Werewolves gone wrong.
The season of spookiness is almost upon us. What says scary better than movie monsters, more specifically, werewolves. Throughout the years we have seen hundreds of versions of the infamous beasts. Today, we are going to focus primarily on these fluffy nightmare Fido’s as portrayed on the silver screen.

Help Me, Father
“Father Byron, She’s ready.” she may have been ready but I was not. “I’ll be in momentarily.” I responded, I needed more time to prepare. I had been a priest for years but this was the first I’d ever dealt with anything like this. A young mother, Elize, had fallen victim to something most unholy: A demonic possession.

Sister and Wolf
Any day can go from bad to good, and good to bad. Today, today was the latter. We had come to a stop around midday, and I was enjoying sausages and fresh bread while the sun melted the last of a surprise snowstorm which had temporarily stopped us. In the past week, I have gained a mastery of this Russian that my Akatuyian friends speak, and I have begun to enjoy the idiosyncrasies of their language.

Ouroboros
Can I take a moment of your time to tell you about the most fabulous little creature? Now, you’re probably thinking it’s some rare bird with bright multicolored plumage that lives in the mysterious heart of the Amazon, or perhaps a cuddly bright-eyed marsupial that looks like a living teddy bear, and obeys and dotes like the most loyal lapdog. You’re wrong on both accounts. However, if at the end of my introductory question, the image of a small brown retinentia leech from the Mississippi bayou entered your mind then you may give yourself a pat on the back.

Reed Alexander's Horror Review of 'Black Cranes: Tales of Unquiet Women' 2020, Edited by Lee Murray and Geneve Flynn
In order for me to consider an anthology good, it needs at least three solid stories that are worth the purchase. The only exception, my review of the Creeping Corruption Anthology, where I mentioned that The Being by J. M. Striker, was worth the cover price, alone!

PAUSE: A Returning Look at 'Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer' (1986)
Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer is one of those movies that is outwardly deceiving. At first glance, one would assume that this is little more than a low-budget '80s B-Movie slasher, with little substance or purpose other than to shock. However, as you move deeper into the film this misconception melts away into one of absorbed horror; almost like watching a train crash. It's a brutal, uneasy watch but one with truly frightening implications. Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, despite its mediocre production value, does the very best with what it has at hand.

Corpses on the Field
The bodies were sprawled across the ground and stacked upon one another, the closer we drew to the entrance of the dugout. A faint smell of gunpowder mingled in with the heavy stench of blood hung in the air, and as we approached, I asked my companions to be wary. The bodies in front of us were fresh, and not only might there be wounded among them, but the killers might be nearby as well.
