Thirst
The city of Silver Lake is so named because it forms a crescent around the small lake of the same name. While the city sprawled around that curve of the lake offers more public access to the water than most beachfront communities, it’s still a small community that sees little business in the way of tourism. Much like the other cities scattered throughout western New York state, Silver Lake had never been able to make good on the ambition the founders of the city had for it centuries earlier, but that was just fine with its residents. The tight knit community liked to keep to themselves and they liked that no one in town was really a stranger. You might not recognize someone by face, but, once you learned their name, you could usually put together their entire family history. Chances are that person’s father, uncle, or cousin owned a business somewhere in the city.

Why do we love Horror?
Pulse racing, heart pounding. You lay awake, your thoughts racing. Your stomach flutters uneasily. In any other circumstance, you’d be worried about your symptoms; yet these are all things we can look forward to after watching a particularly good horror film. We (almost) all love a good scare, but why is that? What blurs the lines between fear and entertainment? We like watching horror films simply because it's entertaining. It acts as a means to fend off boredom. Scary movies are something you either really love or avoid at all costs. Logically, we should be running away from things that induce fear. But horror movies have a way of drawing a lot of people in. It's a little confusing if you stop and think about it, but horror entertainment is a very popular genre. According to research and experts, there are a few different reasons behind why people like scary movies. people watch scary movies for three main reasons: tension, relevance, and unreal ism. For some, watching scary movies can be an entire experience due to the mystery and the shock. Others who are drawn to it due to "relevance," find elements in the movie that they can relate to. Those who like horror due to its "unreal ism" enjoy it because they know for a fact that it's all fake anyway. For them, it's just pure entertainment and fun.

The Undiscovered Country Frank Andrews put his foot down weaving in and out of the traffic through the pouring rain oblivious to the danger. He had to get to the shops before they closed. I was a child of nine years old when I first stepped into the forgotten room that was once the private chambers to lady of the Royal Court Dracula, for she had never been named in the modern day life of the court, nor ever appeared at any of the great balls for sabbits through the years that I could remember. The door to her room stood closed but unlocked. We, the children of the gathered Vampire, Lycian and Witches all knew never to go into rooms that were closed, yet unlike the other children my curious nature as a child never let me think of anything but seeing what was inside that one room, no matter how often I was told by others it would be shameful to step into that room and the amount of trouble I would be in would be nothing like normal.

It was a beautiful morning. As beautiful as it could be in the year 2032. It is a time where everything the sun touches, it burns. Sam woke up four minutes before his alarm. He hoists himself to the side of the bed, where his feet aligned perfectly with his slippers. He pulled his curtains open to greet his dying lawn. Sam sat down to digitally read the paper.
