I love her
The pain draws further into my face. Still, I won't stop clenching my teeth. I read once that at night spiders crawl into your mouth. I hope that if I push my jaw shut stiff enough it will keep closed when I'm sleeping. I have no idea if it works, but it's the only way that I can sleep at night. And sleeping is the only thing I want. It draws me in like a magnet. Sometimes it feels like I wake up when I close my eyes.

Editorial Report – A Haunted House. Virginia Woolf. 1921
Virginia Woolf’s 1921 shorty story - A Haunted House, is a well written ghost story, with a strong central theme. Whilst it is not gothic, it is clear that the piece has been influenced by Poe, with Woolf’s use of poetic devices and descriptions. This is a perfect example of how Woolf has tried to experiment with genre expectations, whilst not deviating much from her central plot. The themes of love, loss, struggle and connection are explored well in this short story, with a twist on the ‘ghost story’ genre.

The Great Ball.
I walked through a bolted silver door. Everyone at the Masquerade Ball looked unique, yet similar. A few people chose to go with a personalized version of a Phantom of The Opera mask. A handful decided that painting over their faces would be a better idea. Some had masks that were adorned with diamonds and pearls, others were wearing green, blue and gold, while some proudly wore black and white masks. People huddled in groups with others that put on a mask similar to their own. A large group of men and women with gold-colored masks and raging black holes for eyes started surrounding me. They danced ritualistically, holding hands, forming a circle around me and trapping me in the midst of the gold link chain they had constructed around me. I had no real mask. My face bore a transparent foil above my thick skin, and my eyes showed hope. I had no business being with them. One of their three tall leaders came towards me with a gold mask whose inside glowed a burning red, smoking and sizzling, eager for the touch of human skin. If I were to put it on, I could never take it off. The second leader was waving a silver spoon around, and a piece of black cloth, ready to blind me with a swift flick of his hand. The last one was fitting a red thread through a needle whilst looking me dead in the eyes. My lips would be forever sealed. My transparent mask and I had no business being around this group of people. I danced my way out of Golden Group, and pretended to help them reach their goal. ‘I am not getting indoctrinated.’ I thought. The three leaders watched me make my way out of their circle, visibly filled with hatred and anger despite their lack of expression. Their blind eyes fixated on me as I twirled around, and linked hands with them before making a run for the windows.

Movie Review: 'Rent A Pal' IFC Midnight as Midnight Movie Hit on Its Hands
Rent A Pal starring Wil Wheaton and Brian Landis Folkins is a trip. Set in 1990, this story about a man who rents himself a friend on a VHS tape has atmosphere for days and a pair of lead performances with electrifyingly weird intensity. Themes of loneliness, depression and mental illness linger like a hazy fog that rarely lifts. Moments of joy are punctuated by creeptastic moments of dark comedy and despair.

Movie Review: 'The Turning' Fails as Literary Adaptation and Modern Scare-Fest
The Turning stars Mackenzie Davis (Tully) as the new Governess, Kate, at one of those only in the movies, dusty old mansions where every creaky floorboard is likely a malevolent spirit looking to slam a door. Kate has just been hired to replace a Governess who left abruptly, you get no points for guessing what happened to her, though the movie pretends that the fate of the previous Governess is a mystery.

Movie Review: 'The Grudge' 2020 Sequel or Remake or Just Not Good?
Is The Grudge a remake? A Sequel? A reimagining? Who cares? The Grudge is bad and that is the simple fact of this far too soon rehash of something that hasn’t even had the time to develop any notable fan nostalgia. The Japanese original made waves at the international box office in 2002 and was snapped up for a quickie, Americanized remake in 2004 starring Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Sarah Michele Geller.

The Heathers Chapter 1 “We've got a floater,” my partner said, hanging up the phone. Crap, I thought, I hate floaters. Give me a normal run of the mill murder victim any day. A waved of nausea washed over me at the thought of a body in the river. I grabbed my coat, gun, and badge and followed my partner to the elevator. We stepped into the elevator after the metallic ding sounded and the doors slid open. The smell of decades-old smoke in the tiny space made my stomach turn again.

Ghostly Happenings in Michigan
On a hill in the Heritage Hill section of Grand Rapids, Michigan is a private residence called The Phillips Mansion. It is a two-story antebellum mansion built in the Georgian Revival style. Four large pillars in the front make it look grand. It was built in 1864 the house had eight rooms and the kitchen in a shed in the back.
