What was it that your child told you that gave you chills?
When my daughter was younger, she had once told me of this man named Tyrone that was sitting on her bed in a black suit and tie and asked if she had Cool-Aid and cookies. She said she went to the bathroom and when she came back he was gone. She wanted to know where he went. The description was my brother that had passed away when I was five years old. He was 34 when he passed and he wore a black suit and tie when he was lying in his coffin. We used to share Cool-Aid and cookies when he would come over to visit.It wasn’t chilling to me at all. I was thrilled to know that my brother stopped in to see my daughter.

The Village
Luke Watson gave a sigh of satisfaction as he surveyed his little village at the back of the garden . It was pleasingly correct in every detail. Little people paraded in front of stores displaying wares of every kind. Some waited on 1ine for a commuter bus. One patient Lilliputian stood by as his tiny dog contemplated a fire plug. There were lamp posts, phone booths and all the familiar sights of a bustling rural community. The day was warm and balmy and Luke was ecstatic in his enjoyment.

Shawna bolted up in bed, then turned and looked at the clock on her nightstand, “Thank god it was a dream,” she exhaled in relief. Sensing the urge, she got out of bed and walked into her bathroom. On the floor, she saw towels covered in blood. She began to panic. Then she looked at the sink which was also covered in blood. Shawna began to freak out, “No, no, nooooo, NOOOOO!” she cried in hysterics as she slid to the bathroom floor and cradle herself, “it was a dream, it had to be a dream,” she sobbed. I stare at the home in front of me, and I’m underwhelmed by the sheer amount of ordinary that stares back. Lincoln doesn’t live in some medieval torture castle, or a cement prison with no windows.
