The Execution Of A Demon
Why can’t I just die? Troy sobbed, sticking his fingers deep into his mouth, plunging them into the warm, wet tissue in the back of his throat. With a full-body wretch, the last of the pills he had swallowed spewed out. Please, let me die. He laid his head against the toilet bowl, a long cry escaping his lips. Mucus dripped from his nose and drool ran from his mouth, both joining the procession of tears that fell into the bowl beneath his face. The smell of bile burnt his nose. His lips curled away from his teeth.

Dream of Xanthos
Isabelle sat straight up in bed with a harsh gasp, breathing heavily as she grasped the sheets in her small hands. She looked around and realized she was in bed. She began to get up in a panic. Throwing on her robe and thrusting her toes into her slippers she ran into the hall.

Dream of Xanthos
She was alone in the rain. Her thick flowing hair was weighing on her shoulders as she gazed across the manicured lawn. Her face was the color of ash. She possessed a solemn constitution as she realized what she must do. Her heart was beating like a drum. She licked her lips and tasted the moisture collecting upon them, yet her throat felt dry and hoarse as if she had been screaming for hours.

The Legs of Vidalia
In the room next to the kitchen, where the onions were stored, lived a woman named Vidalia. She never left the room. She just peeled onions all day and all night. Nobody could remember how long she had been there, but she was already there when Rank came along. And that had been about ten years. Rank did the cooking, if what he did could be called cooking. The word 'cooking' usually draws connotations like seasoning, spice, blending of flavors, ingredients, etc. But all he did was drop the peeled onions in a big soup pot to boil. Pot after pot, day in, day out. When they would finally become soft and fall apart, turning into a bland slop, he would fill a bowl and take it out to the back porch adjacent to the kitchen.

Where Did Halloween Go?
Is the Loss of Halloween the Pandemic’s Fault? A lot of people are talking about how the pandemic may essentially cancel Halloween this year. Admittingly, I even wrote a post about it, saying as much too. Recently, I started to really think about it and realized that even before the pandemic happened, Halloween was starting to vanish.

Easy As 1...2...3
Kali had an interesting type of trepidation. She suffered from Necrophobia, the fear of numbers. Imagine the festering dread of that... counting change, making a phone call, ordering a number 5 at the drive-thru. Numbers are part of our daily lives... one cannot just avoid them.

My Composite Halloween Costume: A Smorgasbord of Terror
Given that 2020 has been so, so strange, I've decided that this year's Halloween costume needs to be a bit special. It's not been a normal year by anyone's standards, and 2020 deserves a costume that reflects that.

Halloween Films That’ll Petrify Your Psyche
Welcome, foolish mortals. Putting on a horror movie is a leisure activity that you may find me partaking in on any day of the year. This may be true for some of you, but there’s also an abundance who consider “Halloween movies” a Halloween thing, and only break out the hauntings, gore and jump scares when the season approaches. With so many popular work to choose from and a wide variety of sub-genres as well, you may want to branch out this year. It is my personal opinion that- when done properly- a psychological thriller can make for a fulfilled movie night.

Five Reasons to Add ‘Kill, Baby…Kill!’ to Your Spooky Season Watchlist
My favorite part of the Halloween season is watching spooky films for the very first time. Whether it’s watching classic horror movies I should have seen a long time ago or unearthing a few cult fascinations, every October is a time of great discovery in the film community, and one of the very few times we collectively turn our focus towards a specific genre. That is why I come to you today with a recommendation: Mario Bava’s Kill, Baby…Kill!
