Carl Rimi’s “iPossessed” movie has been generating a buzz among viewers during its recent string of test screenings in Delray Beach. While some viewers have suggested minor tweaks, the overall reception has been exceptional.

The movie’s writer, co-producer, and star, Carl Rimi, along with co-star and co-producer Tami Boothby and co-writer Javier Mayol introduced the film to approximately 100 new viewers at the fourth screening. Rimi informed the audience that the original screenplay was a comedy/horror hybrid, but he refined the script to be more of a suspense/horror flick upon the advice of director Jerry Sommer.

Though the film still retained some comedic elements, the audience found more humor in the Delray screening than in the previous ones. The feedback received from the earlier screenings has already led to direct changes in the movie, including the addition of a quick splash of video and some additional dialogue to introduce the characters.

According to Rimi, one of the opening scenes was trimmed after some audience members found it confusing. He expects to gather more feedback in the coming days after the latest screening, which will be followed by a final test screening near Tampa.

The crew will then proceed to the final movie edits, which will include additional refinements to the audio tracks and a conversion from stereo to surround sound. Rimi aims to complete the movie by September to submit it to some of the top-tier film festivals, such as Sundance, South by Southwest (SXSW), and Tribeca.

The test screenings have been a valuable tool for refining the look, sound, and storyline of the movie, and Rimi is grateful for the opportunity to receive feedback from the audience. The screenings have also been a source of excitement for the local comics who have friends appearing in the film.

Carl Rimi's upcoming movie "iPossessed" is generating a lot of buzz among viewers who are attending test screenings of the film. While audiences have offered some suggestions for minor tweaks, the movie has been receiving an overwhelmingly positive response. Rimi recently held the fourth of six test screenings at the Movies of Delray to refine the look, sound, and storyline of the film before the final edit.

The movie, which stars Rimi, Tami Boothby, and is co-written by Javier Mayol, was initially intended to be a comedy/horror hybrid. However, shortly before filming began, Rimi and director Jerry Sommer decided to make the movie more of a straightforward suspense/horror flick while retaining some comedic elements. This change seems to have been well-received by audiences, with some even noting that it lightened up the mood.

Rimi has been taking audience feedback seriously, and already made some changes based on the input from the first three screenings. These include adding a quick splash of video and additional dialogue to aid in character introductions, as well as trimming one of the opening scenes to improve the clarity of the storyline.

While the test screenings have been useful in refining the film, Rimi is still looking forward to hearing more feedback from viewers. Another test screening is scheduled for June 21 at the Movies of Delray, with the final screening set for June 31 in Wesley Chapel. Rimi hopes to have a completed version of the film ready by September to submit to top-tier film festivals like Sundance, South by Southwest (SXSW), and Tribeca. With its combination of suspense, horror, and comedy elements, "iPossessed" is sure to be a thrilling and entertaining ride for audiences when it's released.
