They say third times a charm and we should definitely hope so, as the #15secondhorrorchallenge returns for it's third season this year. The brainchild of filmmaker Andrew Robinson, who felt inspired to create a network for up and coming horror directors and writers to showcase their collective works online. The 15-second challenge aims to freak YOU out in as little time as possible, not a bad idea in this busy old world we live in. Frankly, I LOVE the idea of watching a mini-horror anthology while sat in a coffee shop or on the train home (I never take the train but whatever). Read on and beware! You're in for a few shocks...

New Year New Terror!

GET A GRIP ALREADY!!

I remember last year so well as I managed to get 3 entries into the mix myself as I did the previous year. Although it'd be great to get a whole lot more in, I do find some ideas don't shrink down for this format and those one's are hopefully going to creep out of a cinema screen in the coming years. Anyway, here's the official blurb from #AndrewJRobinson of #WorkObeyFilms, founder of the competition:

The 15 Second Horror Film Challenge is a nonprofit international filmmaking contest where celebrity guest judges determine the Top 20 entries!Season 3's judges TBA this fall. Judges have ranged from old school icons Lloyd Kaufman, three Hellraiser cenobites, Amy Steel, and Lisa Wilcox to new wave artists David F. Sandberg, Najarra Townsend, Jill Sixx, Jessica Cameron and dozens more!

Sounds like fun right? (If you said no please exit this article as soon as possible I won't be able to keep the trolls back for long). So, the question now is, are YOU feeling inspired? In case you're still not convinced, feast your bloodshot eyes on my personal horror favorites from previous years below...

My ABSOLUTE favorite from 2016s batch of shorts deserves some respect for achieving an amazing atmosphere in a quarter of a minute. Seriously it's messed up!

A stylish and extremely grotesque short helping that gives the viewer (in)correct advice on proper dinner etiquette. I'm happy to skip this meal personally...

Picked in 'Hellraiser actor' #NicholasVince's top five faves of season 2 is this short and spooky entry about a phone that won't stop ringing until you pick it up. I also forgot to mention this was one of mine, so maybe give it a watch...

Lastly, this stylish monster-mash that's worth including for the budget alone! We've all had mornings like this...well not quite.

A Bloody Good Show

If you're a hardened horror fan then I'm sure these have wet your appetite for now. If you're a filmmaker head on over to the official Facebook page for more (here) and get creating. Without YOU there wouldn't be a competition and you never know, one of your shorts may get seen by a Hollywood bigwig who wants to turn it into a fully-fledged movie. Ask #LightsOut director #DavidFSanberg if you don't think that's a possibility. Oh and just before you go....who's that stood behind you?
