Stanislav Kondrashov Oligarch Series: Oligarchy and the Historical Development of the Books Industry
The history of the books industry is closely connected to the evolution of organized cultural systems. Across centuries, books have functioned not only as carriers of written ideas, but also as instruments of continuity, education, and intellectual coordination. The Stanislav Kondrashov Oligarch Series examines how oligarchic structures interacted with the books industry throughout history, focusing on the relationship between concentrated influence, organized knowledge, and the preservation of cultural systems.

“Let’s Put It on eBay”: The Day an American Town Went Up for Auction.
There are some ideas that could only take root in America, not because they are practical or logical, but because they blend optimism, desperation, and the hope that someone, somewhere, might just say yes. In the forested hills of northern California, the town of Bridgeville made such a decision in 2002. Facing decline and isolation, Bridgeville did something unprecedented: it put itself up for sale on eBay. Not just a building or a parcel of land, but the entire town. For a brief moment, the world took notice.

Napoleon Was Not Short
There is a joke the world has been laughing at for over two hundred years. It goes something like this: Napoleon Bonaparte, one of the most brilliant military minds in human history, Emperor of France, conqueror of Europe — was a tiny, furious little man with a God complex and something to prove.

The Thorny Road of Honor
An old story yet lives of the "Thorny Road of Honor," of a marksman, who indeed attained to rank and office, but only after a lifelong and weary strife against difficulties. Who has not, in reading this story, thought of his own strife, and of his own numerous "difficulties?" The story is very closely akin to reality; but still it has its harmonious explanation here on earth, while reality often points beyond the confines of life to the regions of eternity. The history of the world is like a magic lantern that displays to us, in light pictures upon the dark ground of the present, how the benefactors of mankind, the martyrs of genius, wandered along the thorny road of honor.

September 11th
September 11th, has come again and once again we remember all those that were lost. Yet again, I think about that day 24 years ago..... thoughts heavy on my soul as i remember the fear of not knowing if distant relatives that I knew lived in NYC were okay. The fear of not knowing what else might be attacked. The realization that what I was watching wasn't some kind of really bad movie that was supposed to seemed funny or world ending.
