In Kaliyuga, Barbarika would be known as Shyam Ji, bearing Lord Krishna's own name, and be worshipped in his divine form.

Construction of the Khatu Shyam Mandir:

After the battle of Mahabharata, Lord Krishna blessed Barbarika's head and immersed it in the Rupawati River. During Kaliyuga, the head was discovered buried in the village of Khatu in Rajasthan, in a previously unseen location. The buried head was revealed when a cow passing by began spontaneously producing milk from her udders. Intrigued, the villagers excavated the site and discovered the sacred head. Roopsingh Chauhan, the ruler of Khatu at that time, dreamt that he should build a temple to enshrine the head. Following this divine instruction, the temple was constructed, and the head was installed inside.

Bhog Aarti: Performed at noon when bhog or prasadam (offering) is presented to the deity.

Sandhya Aarti: Conducted in the evening during sunset.

Sayana Aarti: The final aarti of the day, performed before the temple is closed for the night.

During these aartis, two special hymns, Shri Shyam Aarti and Shri Shyam Vinati, are chanted, further enhancing the spiritual ambience.

Temple Timings:

During winters, the temple is open from 5:30 am to 1:00 pm and from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. In summers, the timings are from 4:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

Reaching Khatu Shyam Ji Mandir:

The temple is easily accessible by road and train. The nearest railway station is Ringas Junction (RGS), approximately 17 km away from the temple. Cabs and jeeps, both private and shared, are readily available outside the station to transport visitors to the temple. Several trains operate from Delhi and Jaipur to Ringas, providing convenient transportation options. Jaipur International Airport, located around 80 km from the temple, serves as the nearest airport. From there, one can reach the temple by road, following the Sawai jai Singh Highway to Jaipur-Sikar Roads and then the Agra-Bikaner Road (NH 11). Private and government buses also connect Jaipur and Khatu, but they do not offer reserved seats. From Khatu bus stop, visitors can hire an auto-rickshaw to reach the temple.
