What's next for Dex, Sonny, Brick, and Jason onGeneral Hospital?

Do GH fans have a right to worry?

General Hospital viewers have been discussing on social media how they are concerned that the new writers will soon change things in Port Charles. Those who watch the ABC soap know that change is constant but are hoping they are wrong about what might soon transpire.

Some General Hospital fans believe that Billy Miller was sacrificed when Steve Burton returned and reclaimed the role of Jason Morgan. Viewers had gotten used to Miller's version of Stone Cold when the script was flipped and Miller became Drew Cain. GH viewers now are concerned that history may have already repeated itself or soon will. had been enjoying Evan Hofer as Dex Heller and now are wondering if he will get the boot because Burton has returned to the role he originated.

Hofer was hired in May 2022 for a role that was to last only few months on General Hospital but his character has now been front and center for close to 2 years. Dex has been protecting Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his family and doing a really good job. When he was busted for his double-dealing he told Sonny that he genuinely respected him but Sonny kicked him to the curb.

Is Dex expendable or a keeper?

A distraught Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) cannot believe Sonny got rid of the man she loves and fans are wondering if Hofer's character is gone for good. Nothing has been said about his leaving the show and Hofer mentioned nothing about hsi status during a recent interview about his character. Once Jason is back there will be no need for Sonny to have 2 right-hand men so fans are wondering about the fate of Dex.

No one has said exactly how Jason will fit into the scheme of things when he returns but Carly Spencer ( Laura Wright) and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duel) see Dex as a hero and consider him part of the family.

Brick (Stephen A Smith) only comes around now and then but Dex has been in the day-to-day routine of Sonny's world just as Jason was. General Hospital viewers have enjoyed getting to know Dex and like that, he has fallen in love with Joss. Spoilers and GH execs have not given details about what is coming with Dex or Jason.

GH fans see patterns in storylines

General Hospital fans know that although Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) and Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) were a popular couple the writers broke them up despite viewer complaints. Scott recently had a hook-up with Lucy Coe ( Lynn Herring) which is a tradition for those two but fans who watch the soap were not happy this happened. Now it seems as if Joss and Dex may be headed in the same direction as Scott and Obrecht.

We are still in February sweeps so anything is possible but fans on social media are bracing for Dex to be long gone while hoping Sonny can forgive him. A majority say they want the mob boss to allow Dex and Joss to be together in peace. No one wants a repeat of what happened to Liesl and Scott. Is it possible that Carly, Michael, Joss and perhaps even Ava Jerome (Maura West) can get through to the mob boss or is this a lost cause because Sonny is the one who is actually "stone cold"?

What happens next in Port Charles?

Hofer's Soap Opera Digest interview (the above link) reveals nothing so viewers must wait thsi out. Sonny and Dex had been getting closer almost like a father and son. The dynamic between Sonny and Brick has been improving with Brick looking out for his friend and suspecting Dex was hiding something.
