I've been watching this show since it first came out back in 2019 and its safe to say that I have been obsessed. I love small towns like that and quite frankly I wished I lived in one. This show has romance, mystery, comedy and bit of air around it to get just about everyone hooked on it. Have you seen it already or wanting to watch it, if you haven't? Don't read on it will contain a lot of spoilers.

It starts out with Mel moving away from LA to this small town trying to escape from the hurt of losing her husband. Well, when she finally gets to be her cabin it's to her surprise that its almost in ruin, dirty and hardly any furniture. She decides to go to the bar where we meet the very handsome Jack, who takes one look at Mel and falls for her right there on the spot. He walks her home right there, after he leaves, he goes looking for Hope about fixing up the cabin and getting her to talk Mel into staying. Apparently, she offered Mel a job for a nurse position that wasn't even available, the doc doesn't like it and wants Mel fired. It takes a while, but Mel decides to stay and make it work for the year contract she signed. Jack and Mel start hanging out more and getting to know each other, at this time we find out that he's been dating a lady named Charmine who let's say kind of bitchy and rude. Jack ends up breaking it off with her which she does not like, we don't see her for a while when she pops up again, she's pregnant with supposedly Jacks baby's. Well, we find out at the end of season 4 that she lied about that, and they are someone else's. Which I think is just downright ugly to do to someone. She knew he was in love with Mel and just wanted to hurt that growing relationship anyway she could think of. Charmine marries this guy Todd who is kind of a major jerk, who doesn't care who the father is as long as it the one raising the babies, well until the end of season 4 when it comes out that he doesn't really care either way. The real kicker of this whole thing is Mel went to use her and dead husband's embryos to get pregnant, then has sex with Jack and then she is pregnant. Has no clue who the father is, which Jack would rather not find out, saying that it would change how he felt about the baby if he knew. Well Mel's ex- mother-in-law decides she wants custody of the embryos, and they have to see who the father of the baby is, which we find out is Jacks, so the lady has no claim to raise the child whatsoever.

Hope is the mayor of Virgin River and always has her nose in other people's business. Always needs to be in control of everything, she's married to Doc, and they have a very complicated relationship where they lived in different houses for like 20 years. Well at some point they decided they should get a divorce so they both could move on. Doc starts seeing Muriel and they honestly would make the perfect couple; Hope ends up getting jealous though and somehow gets the Doc want to be with her again. They get back together when she leaves to take care of a family member in another state. While she is away one of her best friends Lily gets diagnosed with cancer and doesn't have long. Well after the whole town finds out she spends some time with them, goes to lay down and ends up suffering a stroke and never wakes up. The day of the funeral Hope gets into a very bad car accident, everyone thought she wouldn't survive but eventually she wakes up. It'll be a very long journey to fully heal, suffering from a TBI affects her personality, and her decision making which you see.

Doc who is kind of an honest guy who doesn't take no for an answer. In season 3 he finds out he has a problem with his eyes which could cause him to go blind. He decides to start looking for another doctor to take over the practice. I guess sometime between the season he hires someone named Cameron over the phone. When we meet Cameron, he is a sweet, charming man that is caring in every sense of the word. He takes an immediate shining to Mel, even though she is with Jack. At the end of season 4 he tries to tell Mel that she is with the wrong guy, that she should be careful now that's pregnant. She doesn't take kindly to that and proceeds to tell him that he should mind his own business. Well, he then resigns, well Mel doesn't want to leave the Doc hanging when she has to take time off so she decides to resign hoping that Cameron will stay on. We also meet a young man named Denny who claims to be docs grandson, which honestly shocks me because doc really believed he had no children whatsoever. Denny at first appears to be a very sweet young man wanting to get to know the Doc, well then, we start seeing some very suspicious behavior. Like taking drugs that aren't prescribed to him, breaking into the drug lockup at the clinic, and going through financial records of the clinic. We see him at a bank closing an account using Doc's identity, we don't know which account or anything else regarding how much was in the account. Apparently, he was paying off the clinics mortgage and giving them so funding. He later tells doc that he has a fatal Huntington's dieses and that he wanted to use the money for some good before he dies.

Anyway, there is so much to tell you, but I think I should leave some suspense when watching the show. The show is on Netflix where season 4 just released on 7/20 and they are currently filming season 5. Go give it a watch and let me know how you like the show!
