Daniel and Jack both receive shocking news

Friday on The Young and the Restless Daniel Romalatti (Michael Grazeadei) and Jack Abbott ( Peter Bergman) both deal with unbelievable news. Jack has been beside himself trying to figure out how to get Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) out of jail and has been brainstorming with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc). He is now pouring his heart out to Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) who tries to be the voice of reason and questions why there is a rush to marry Diane.

The brothers have a very good talk but when he returns home he gets the shock of his life. Instead of supporting her brother Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) is out for revenge because she believes Diane is guilty of killing Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). She is also tired of her sibling trying to put her out of the family home their share and has decided to fight fire with fire. Jack moved Diane in against Ashley's wishes and now wants to marry her. In retaliation, Ashley asked Tucker McCall to move in and he does just that.

Tucker makes himself at home at the Abbott's

Ashley was stunned to find Tucker at the front door and that he came over the same evening that she invited him. She tells him he did not pack much and lets him inside and they have a chat. Jack returns home soon after and his sister tells him that Tucker is her guest. The look on his face indicates he has had enough of her behavior but he does not say one word and walks out of the room. Tucker tells Ashley "That went well." and he seems to be enjoying the drama he is causing. Meanwhile, Summer Abbott (Allison Lanier) is telling Daniel that their mother is alive.

Daniel doubts Summer

Daniel went back to Chancellor Park to check on his sister just after Phyllis has gone and Summer is all over the place. He thinks his sibling is off the rails with grief but Summer begins to come clean and share with him the story Phyllis told. Daniel tells her she is overwhelmed and emotional and says he sees their mother too as he goes about his day. He tells Summer that the situation is stressful and their minds can play tricks on them and that the way their mother died is taking a toll.

Eventually, Summer gives her brother all the details and it's not clear if Daniel really believes her or not. He says that if this tale is true and they tell anyone it will free Diane and put their mother behind bars. So now Phyllis and both of her children are willing to lie and allow Diane to stay in jail. Summer was supposed to keep the truth to herself but she caved and told her brother.

In next week's previews for The Young and the Restless a guilt-ridden Summer is asked by Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) if there is something she knows that she is withholding. This lie that Phyllis is spinning is taking unintentional victims. Daniel and Summer are on edge as are Jack and Kyle and Michael and Lauren Baldwin's (Tracy Bregman) are at odds with one another because Lauren is certain her husband is defending her best friend's killer.

I'm impressed. How do you keep track of all of this. This is almost as much drama as when I was in school--jr. high, sr. high, college & seminary!
