The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Phyllis manipulates Summer as Jack is determined to wed Diane

Pyhllis has not changed

Thursday and Friday on The Young and the Restless Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and his stepdaughter/daughter-in-law Summer Abbott (Alison Lanier) will find themselves in desperate situations and making important choices for those they love. Summer listens to Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) spin her tale of being manipulated by Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) and blames him as if she had no will of her own. She tells her daughter that the duo plotted to fake her death and blame Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) but it went horribly wrong.

Summer will be filled with mixed emotions and guilt and lets her mom know she is truly loved by her and Daniel Romalatti (Michael Grazeadei). Phyllis does her best to throw Diane under the bus rather than appologize for being the reason she is falsely imprisoned. Phyllis is not truly remorseful for her recent actions because if she were she would not be manipulating her daughter.

Summer was stunned on Wednesday to find out her mom is live and was overcome with guilt about the way she and Daniel treated her. Summer was apologetic and her mother took full advantage which is what Phyllis does best. This continued on Thursday as she played on her daughter's guilt and still wants to stick it to Diane.

Summer's guilt is blinding her

Phyllis told Summer some of the details of her current situation but she placed the blame squarely on Jeremy's shoulders. She showed no remorse for being the reason Kyle's mother is locked up on false charges and begged Summer to keep her secret. Phyllis is hoping the police will believe one of Stark's criminal contacts killed him and has now placed her daughter in an unimaginable predicament.

Summer kept saying that she and Daniel love their mom and would never hate her but Phyllis emphasized Summer is the only one she can trust and who can know for now she is alive. How will Summer be able to face Kyle and Jack who insisted all along Diane was innocent? How can she keep this secret and allow her mother-in-law to spend more time in jail?

Jack and Kyle are devastated

Meanwhile, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealot) are growing more frantic and desperate to make sure Diane gets out of jail. Jack is more determined than ever to make certain Diane is his wife as soon as possible and he is willing to do anything to ensure this happens. At some point, Summer will have to return to the Abbott home and watch Kyle and Jack suffering as she remains silent. Will she just stand back and watch the fear and pain her husband ad father in law are dealing with and remain loyal to her mother or will she spill?

Summer is emotional and confused but will she continue her saying she believes Diane is guilty in order to protect Phyllis? Summer is so happy her mom is alive that she has forgotten all the bad things she did and why she and Daniel were so angry with her before. Spoilers don't say how long this will go on but Summer choosing Phyllis over Diane might lead to the end of her marriage and her relationship with her brother.

Things are about to become complicated

Daniel, Jack, and Kyle will all be furious that she kept the fact Phyllis is alive from them but for different reasons. Daniel forgave his sibling for planning the memorial service and not allowing him to give any input. The Abbott men will be stunned at the enormity of how far Phyllis was willing to go in order to get rid of Diane. They will not buy that Jeremy Stark acted alone and manipulated Phyllis into marrying him and plotting the frame-up.

When the truth is revealed Phyllis will no longer be able to hold Diane'spast over her because she has essentially done the same thing by faking her own death.
