Chene' Lawson returns to The Young and the Restless as Harmony

Chene' Lawson returns to Y&R

The Young and the Restless has been bringing back former cast to help celebrate the 50-year anniversary of the CBS soap and the latest is Chene' Lawson who portrayed the birth mom of Devon Hamilton (Bryton James). She was not a major player in Genoa City and was only on the soap for a brief period of time. Her return does coincide with the timing of a few characters whose lives she might impact in one way or another.

Lawson portrayed Yolanda Hamilton who had been a groupie and slept with Tucker McCall and it was years later when he was revealed to be Devon's bio dad. Yolanda became a drug addict which is how Devon ended up adopted by Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) and Drucilla Winters (Victoria Rowell). She turned her life around and has remained clean and changed her name to Harmony.

Harmony's last visit to Genoa City had consequences

Harmony returned to Genoa City to allow her son to see that she had turned her life around but unfortunately, she ran into Tucker and ended up in bed with him. Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) caught the two together which led to problems as she and McCall were together at the time. There’s the possibility that Ashley and Tucker will cross paths with Harmony when she returns which could lead to some awkwardness.

Soap Opera Digest says Harmony will be around for a few episodes and will be involved with characters from her past and this could mean McCall and Ashley. Once the two women see each other things could go one of several ways. Ashley knows Tucker was sleeping with Audra Charles (Zuleyka Charles) while professing his love to her so seeing his ex might make her realize he is a serial cheater and she could consider dumping him.

Ashley has reasons to not trust Tucker

Tucker recently asked Audra to run away with him and also tried to get her in bed shortly before seeing Ashley so history might repeat itself. He could end up in bed with Harmony again and be caught just like before. it's also possible that Harmony might not run into her baby daddy or if she sees him or Ashley she could speak and keep moving. One person she will spend time with is her son who is probably the reason for the visit.

Harmony will finally get to meet her grandson Dominic Chancellor (River and Rain Ware). She may discuss her recent activities with her son and then be on her way. Of course, she and Tucker could bond over the fact that they share such a beautiful grandchild and Ashley and Harmony could get into a heated argument. More than likely if she will only be around for a few episodes her visit will probably not cause serious damage.

Who will show up next in Genoa City?

At this point, the only return to The Young and the Restless who has remained and been involved with a current storyline has been Michael Graziadei who portrays Daniel Romalatti. The others made brief visits to Genoa City and left or came back for an additional episode or 2. Danny Romalatti (Michael Damian) stuck around because of the Bicentennial celebration and the faked death of Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and he has been a comfort to his son but he is not involved in

Be on the lookout for updates related to Chene' Lawson's return as well as news of additional former cast who will be showing up. The 50-year celebration began last year and looks like it might continue until March 2024 when the CBS series officially turns 51.
