The Young and the Restless: Sally Spectra's pipe dream will never come to pass

The redhead continues to compare herself to Phyllis and has no idea that she will never fit in with the Genoa City elite

By Cheryl E PrestonPublished 3 years ago 3 min read

On Wednesday's episode of The Young and the Restless Sally Spectra complained so much that Chloe told her to give it a rest. The redhead spent the entire episode asking why Phyllis got a free pass and she did not. Phyllis has been in Genoa City for more than 3 decades and has an extensive history with the residents. Sally is a newcomer who has only caused problems and done nothing to redeem herself. She is wearing her probationary period thin and probably will never be accepted by the people she wants to impress.

Sally won't understand a real love connection

Sally was shocked that Chloe and Kevin were going to eat with Michael and Lauren and pointed out that Lauren would not forgive her but forgave Chloe. What Sally is not taking into consideration is that Lauren is Chloe's sister in law and they have a long history. Sally also complained that Jack keeps giving Phyllis free passes but will not forgive her. Chloe seemed disturbed by all the whining and told Ms. Spectra to take responsibility for her own actions.

Chloe worries what will happen when Chelsea returns

Sally has a pipe dream that began with her infatuation with Jack but she kept sabotaging their budding romance. Ms. Spectra seems in awe of the Newmans, Abbott, and the Baldwin families and wishes she were a part of it all. She does not seem to understand that she cannot antagonize people and expect them to welcome her with open arms. On Wednesday she started a fight with Phyllis and alluded to the image she took of her and Jack in Tuscany. Blackmail is never going to work and besides Nick and Phyllis have already pulled the plug on their relationship.

Adam barely tolerates Sally and if she targets Chelsea upon her return to Genoa City this will add to the drama. The Newmans, Abbott's, and Baldwins have a long and complicated history that has taken place over many years. It's naive of Sally to believe that in a matter of months she can be a part of it all, when she has done everything she could to destroy those same people. Sally sees that Summer and Kyle are together and her attitude is "All's well that ends well." She does not even consider how she broke the couple up by working with Tara Locke and that the family is still stinging from all the deceit. She designed Victoria's wedding dress with no thought of how it would affect Lauren so her track record is not very good.

Sally wants to be part of the family without putting in anyy work

Spoilers tease that Sally will continue scheming and she will probably also keep wondering why no one likes her. There is too much water under the bridge and Sally will never be loved by the elite in Genoa City. The buz about Victoria's wedding gown is old news and Vickie hugging her is probably all she will ever get from a Newman. She could show Nick the image of Phyllis with her head on Jack's shoulder but at this point, he probably does not even care. Jack will despise her and Phyllis will retaliate and nothing will have been accomplished.

Early on there was some potential for Sally but now she would do well to heed Chloe's warnings and stand down. She has made a nasty bed for herself and basically, all she can do is lay in it. Fighting with Lauren, targetting Chelsea and constant complaining will get her nowhere. She has not even been able to make any progress with Adam. Stay tuned to The Young and the Restless to find out what happens next for Ms. Spectra. Be on the lookout for updates, spoilers, and breaking news related to the redhead.
