The Young and the Restless has missed a golden opportunity for a shocking romance

The thing line between love and hate should be explored by the most unlikely couple.

The Young and the Restless should go there

It is obvious by now that The Young and the Restless is not going to give Shaddam fans what they want. Mark Grossman and Sharon Case have been dating for 3 years in real time but their characters Sharon and Adam are not getting any closer. Spoilers have suggested a hook-up between Chloe Mitchell Fisher (Elizabeth Hendrickson) and the man who hit her daughter with his vehicle and killed her.

Y&R viewers are becoming tired of the same love triangles and need something different. Chloe and Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) are never shown together except when they are eating out with Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) and Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E Bregman). The writers have not given the viewers a reason to be invested in the Fishers as a couple but Adam and Chloe together might appeal to some fans.

Chloe has come a long way from loathing Adam because he is the reason her daughter Deliah died and she is now working for him. It would make sense that their feelings would change as they work together more often. Some fans of The Young and the Restless say it is long past time for Chloe and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) to bury the hatchet where Adam is concerned.

Chelsea and Sally need to be taught a lesson

While Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan) and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) are fighting tooth and nail over the head of Newman Media, it would serve them right if Chloe stole him out from under their noses. Neither of the two has ever looked at each other romantically but all of that could change and it would turn Genoa City on its ear. Chloe has been seeing a different side to her boss and he is getting a better understanding of what makes her tick.

If the Y&R writers are not going to put Adam with Sharon they should consider causing controversy by having him and Chloe actually fall in love. Just imagine Kevin's wife falling for the man who ran down her daughter and who she once shot. Turning all of that rage into passion would be great entertainment. Chelsea and Sally would be livid but need to get over themselves and move along to someone other than Adam.

Genoa City needs eligible bachelors

The truth is there are not a lot of eligible men in Genoa City and if Nick Newman (Josh Morrow) ends up with Sharon that only leaves Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasaro). Fans have said they do not desire to see Peter Bergman going backward and revisiting a relationship with Phyllis Newman (Michelle Stafford) or giving Sally a second chance so he is out there too with no one to love. Both Ms. Spectra and Chelsea are damaged goods and not to be trusted so it would be difficult for them to find a man who would put up with them.

Spoilers have been teasing that Noah Newman might find love with at least three different women in Genoa City so it's not out of the question that Sally or Chelsea could be added to the list. Crystal, the woman in the green dress (Krystal Mosley) Tessa Porter, Kait Fairbank, and Elena Dawson (Brtyni Sarpi) have all been mentioned but nothing came of it.

All of this would hinge on Adam and Chloe taking the plunge and breaking Kevin's heart. There would be absolutely no one in their corner which would make things pretty interesting. Be on the lookout for updates related to all of these Y&R characters and what happens next in their love lives.
