Diane-Diane-Diane

The Young and the Restless is the subject of an article from The List but it is not anything that fans were not already discussing. The issue is how Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) is dominating Genoa City and tearing families apart. This is about the writers and not an attack on the actress. At this point Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) is dead and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) has taken the blame for his murder although Soaps in Depth suggests that since she blacked out someone else could have done the deed.

Stark would never have been in Genoa City and met his demise if it were not for the town's hatred of Diane. Even though she has been cleared of murdering Phyllis who is very much alive Diane continues to be held in a negative light by Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott). Even Phyllis keeps blaming Diane for her woes as if she did not have free will choice.

Summer Aboott's ( Allison Lanier) indifference towards her mother-in-law and support for her mother has now led to Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) considering ending his marriage while Ashley is planning to oust Jack from Jabot. Fans of The Young and the Restless wanted to see more of the Abbott clan but not like this. No one desired to watch them trying to destroy each other but with Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) living in the home, this brings another level of drama.

Y&R fans are weary of the drama

Viewers have been saying they want to see Tracy Abbott (Beth Maitland) mediate and talk some sense into her loved ones and spoilers indicate she will be back this week to try to encourage unity. Fans of The Young and the Restless have also been saying they want to see Noah Newman (Robert Gibson) and Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang) light up the Abbott mansion with their youth but they have been placed on the back burner for Audra Charles (Zuleka Silver) who spoilers tease might hook up with Kyle while he is angry at Summer.

The Newman family has their issues but they do not have free-for-alls and conduct themselves with a bit of decorum. The Abbotts are now having knock-down-drag-out fights that look more like an episode of The Jerry Springer Show than John Abbott's family members. The writers don't seem to understand that the viewers wanted more quality episodes featuring the Abbott family and not this mess they are involved in at the current time. The Lisgt points out that the root of all the evil is Diane and the writers need to do one of two things. They should expose her as a fraud or move on and have Nikki, Ashley, and Phyllis focus on other things.

How will it all end?

Those who watch The Young and the Restless are tired, spoilers and news outlets are complaining but will the writers listen? Some fans have been saying on social media that they are not watching as they used to and that the Diane debacle needs to end. It's understandable that in the beginning no one trusted Diane but she has not done anything to keep the hatred going. Ashley should have allowed her nephew to bond with his mother and left him alone.

They all should have waited to see if Diane screwed up on her own but instead, all of these traps were set and now the show is one big ball of confusion. Summer resents Diane and believes if she had stayed away Phyllis would never felt the need to seek out Stark in the first place. Ashley is worried her soon-to-be sister-in-law will destroy her father's company. When, where, and how it will end nobody knows but viewers are hoping the writers do something soon.
