The Last King Review

From time to time I like to immerse myself in the Streaming catalogs looking for little-known things that at first glance catch my attention, I will not deny that most of the time I end up convinced that I wasted my time and after a few minutes I end up leaving. But, on a few occasions I come across things that, although they have their flaws, entertain me and make me have a good time. This time it was the 2016 Norwegian film “ The Last King ” directed by Nils Gaup . Surely it is not so unknown but I had no idea it existed and that was enough for me to want to come and talk to you about it.

I will start by telling you that it is based on real events, at the time of the civil war in Norway between 1204 and 1206. Period in which the church sought to seize the crown from the king and he is betrayed and poisoned. On his deathbed, he manages to communicate his legacy to a faithful servant to whom he confesses that he has a son with a woman named Inga ( Ane Ulimoen Øverli ) and that this little boy will be the heir to the throne. Immediately, two Birkebeiner agents : Torstein ( Kristofer Hivju ) and Skervald ( Jakob Oftebro ), set off in search of the child to protect him and take him to court while the enemies of the crown, the BaglersThey will try to find him to kill him.

NOTE: I feel compelled to share that the Birkebeiners were a political group of rebels who took up arms during the civil war against the reign of Magnus V, while the Baglers were the opposite group made up of aristocrats, clerics and merchants

The Last King Review

To exist as a honest, the film doesn't work very well during the same time that an existing historical account because, at least that is going to belong to me, who knows little or nothing about norwegian history, i finished the film without really knowing what they happened to be talking about as well as i had to resort to doing my own research, with the exception of during the same time that an existing medieval adventure film, it has its own.

the story has an existing good rhythm as well as entertains without an existing problem, with an existing simple story that at least arouses curiosity, despite the predictability that belongs to the ending, you has the ability enjoy the course that belongs to events, the few battles as well as the construction that belongs to their characters.

visually it happens to be very gratifying because it happens to be endowed with very beautiful snowy landscapes as well as within the story they fit very well, so much so that it happens to be not noticeable that the heroes spend too much time inside of the middle that belongs to chases with horses as well as skis. Point inside of favor that belongs to photography that happens to be very stimulating to the eye.

i won't stop saying that it may feel very close to game that belongs to thrones , even though they happen to be actually completely unrelated, with the exception of fans that belongs to the series is going to probably find it interesting.

the last king happens to be an existing adventure that belongs to war as well as power, with the exception of it happens to be important to remember that it happens to be not very historical, although it arouses curiosity as well as one necessarily ends up diving at least to wikipedia to have the knowledge an existing little about what happens to be being seen as well as that happens to be perhaps the greatest virtue that belongs to this film.

i found it on top of claro video , with the exception of it happens to be also that is going to belong to rent on top of youtube as well as, only inside of some countries, it has the ability exist as a seen on top of prime video.
