In this episode Lana Lang is being taken advantage of by three men who are drinking how she put it "Irish coffee." She wanted to leave the Talon a coffee shop cinema combined. After hints of taking advantage of her pushing her hard like a toy doll. The drunk men debated what to do with her that's when Clark saves her or so it's led to believe.

This is when Clark pretty much kicks them out and beats all three men up like it was nothing. Now I don't know about this, but seriously the storyline is farfetched and unrealistic.

The director Thomas J. Wright, mostly directors for psychological thrillers and action movies did have a vision when he set the mood. But as an author I can tell you a good storyline has fiction but should be somewhat realistic.

I will summaries the episode:

When Lana is assaulted by three drunken customers at The Talon, Clark defends her and ends up throwing the main antagonist onto the new Sheriff's car. The new sheriff elect comes to the Talon in hopes for a coffee but instead witness Clark in his actions defending Lana. Andrew the fake victim fakes his injuries to get pretty much free cash from the Kents an a lawsuit. With the unwilling Sheriff Adams decides not to help Clark and his family, Lana attempts to take matters into her own hands by exposing the phony. Meanwhile, Helen Lex Luthor's girlfriend is being stalked by her ex-boyfriend, Paul Hayden.

In this I come to my point Lex shares with Lana how to defend herself using advanced techniques that she nails on the spot. These

How do you appear to become a master after just a few lessons with Lex Luthor who is a been studying Martial Arts for years? Not realistic.

You can't learn something that quick seriously. It maybe entertaining but I think this bothers me. This is the third time I've watched Smallville season one through ten. As I keep watching I keep thinking these moves are studied for years not a few lessons and learned instantly.

A good example of good character development.

Jason David Frank did his own stunts in MMPR he studied Martial Arts for years. And he is an eight degree black belt.

Here is another example:

See realistic and it bothers me when screenwriters don't know what they are doing it bothers me so much.

RIP JDF may you rest in peace. So much potential if he would have overcome his depression.

Nevertheless, the unrealistic character development is what bothers me. As authors we have all different ways of writing. Different moods we set. But how can you do the poor character development of Lana Lang of the Smallvilleverse.

Another bad example, Lana marrying Lex Luthor so bad and a plot filler.

This was a plot filler but again gave Lana the power she needed.

Domestic violence plot very bad plot filler. (May cause triggers but I have a point to make.)

This plot though a good one helps Lana find her voice against a toxic person she thought could trust. This plot maybe relatable for all us women.

However, I am a huge fan of the TV show Smallville I can say that the character arc for Lana Lang could have been done a lot better.

The actress I am proud of her hard work Kristin Kreuk did a great job portraying this acting gig. I do feel that the arc for Lana could have been done a lot better. Very sloppy writing that's for sure.

I recently read a thread of FB about how unrealistic plots, even in fantasy, are very off-putting for readers. Magic and fantastic happenings are fine, but they need to be made to be relatable and there fore realistic. A very valid point you have made.
