The Bold and the Beautiful: Perhaps Finn might switch the paternity test instead of Vinny

Fans want a twist to the storyline but Steffy's drug supplier tampering with the results is less likely than the man she is in love with.

Would they tamper with the paternity test?

Those who watch The Bold and the Beautiful know that logic rarely comes into the storylines but for the sake of argument let's look at a certain scenario from a logical perspective. Celebrating the Soaps and several other spoilers have fans running with the possibility that Vinny is going to change Steffy's paternity test. This is certainly a possibility, although not likely and if it happens I stand corrected. Spoiler alerts had said that Vinny was going to show up again and cause some trouble. After his talk with his good friend, the thinking is that he will change the paternity test to ensure Liam is declared Steffy's baby daddy so let's discuss this.

Vinny is a drug dealer and there has never been any indication that he has worked at the hospital or even knows his way around. How would he gain access to the lab in order to view and change the test results? Thomas did not indicate during their conversation that he would like another chance with Hope, so why would his BFF act so drastically? Vinny would have to get through secured areas of the hospital and he has no reason to know any passcodes that would let him in. He probably does not even know what floor the lab is on.

Another issue is that Steffy's OBGYN already has the test underway and she may already know the results. There is also the fact that this test will not prove that Liam is the father but only that Finn is not. If the results say the doctor is not a match, surely Liam will obtain an official test which will prove whether he is or is not the baby daddy. Some viewers thought it strange that Steffy did not have Liam give a DNA sample so that they could have proof positive. Fans realize Steffy did not sleep with any other men, but still, Liam should be verified as the father of her unborn child.

We are dealing with a soap opera so anything is possible and one conclusion that no one has considered is that Finn will be the one to do something dirty. He is a doctor and works at the hospital. He could easily change the results because it would benefit him. The good doctor has already told Ridge he is going to stand by Steffy no matter what. He does not care for Liam or the way he insinuates himself into Steffy's life. Everyone would be able to move on with their lives if the baby belongs to Finn. He could change the results just to keep Liam at bay but that would be cruel.

Both Vinny and Dr. Finn know the hell that Steffy and Hope went through because of the baby switch. Would either of these men desire to inflict such pain on those involved yet again? Yes, Finn seems like a stand-up kind of guy but he has much to lose if the child belongs to Liam. If Vinney changes the test results this will not guarantee that Hope will turn to Thomas so if indeed someone does tamper with the results, they will be playing a game of Russian Roulette. B&B fans do not want to see Steffy get sucked into another situation where someone might lose a child they love and had been caring for.

Viewers can only hope the powers that be do not go down this rabbit hole again and that whoever is the baby daddy will be revealed and nothing will change. There is enough drama to last a lifetime within this storyline without anyone tampering with the test result. Steffy and Hope were just beginning to put the Phoebe/Beth debacle behind them and don't need this unnecessary drama. Even so, the writers could set it up where Vinny sneaks into the hospital lab or pays someone he knows to do his dirty work for him. There is also the chance that the trouble he causes may have nothing at all to do with Steffy's pregnancy so stay tuned.
