Will 'WW84' Get the Eighties Right?
The crown jewel of the Amazon is set to return to the silver screen, and I can't wait. The trailer for Wonder Woman 1984 - aka WW84 - dropped at CCXP in São Paulo, Brazil a few days ago, and according to YouTube, has already notched 14 million views, and deservedly so. From the thumping beat of New Order's "Blue Monday" to the flashes of neon and the then-cool fashions, anyone who was a teen or preteen in the 1980s will feel wave after wave of nostalgia.

A Filmmaker's Review: 'Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri' (2017)
Let's have a look at my own personal history with this great film and then, we'll have a look at why I rated it in this particular way. That seems totally fair. I found out about this movie when it came out and well, I was very interested in it right from the beginning and I watched it all the way through close to after it was released on DVD. For some reason, I had heard about the marketing campaign etc. that happened in America, but as I live in England, there wasn't really a big deal made about it here. I didn't hear much buzz about it but, after the Oscars happened, I was even more so interested in it - being because the film itself got a number of Oscars that I thought were incredibly well deserved.

My Thoughts on the 'Ghostbusters Afterlife' Trailer
The new trailer for Ghostbusters Afterlife has just dropped and it looks pretty interesting. The first I thing I noticed is the small town setting that the film is set in, considering that the first two films were set in New York City. I also noticed the new characters which include a mom and her two kids. One of which is Finn Wolfhard from Stranger Things (most of you know that by now). Also, the other sibling is McKenna Grace who plays his sister.

A Filmmaker's Review: 'The Wicker Man' (1973)
Directed by Robin Hardy, this British Classic makes a great excuse film for a rainy day and is possibly one of the greatest films created quintessentially by the British. It is an amazing film with all the trimmings of a horror/thriller cult classic.

Everything You Need to Know About the New Characters in the 'Black Widow' Trailer
After spending seven films as a much loved supporting player in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Natasha Romanoff is finally getting a solo film, with Black Widow due to hit the big-screen in 2020.

Hotly Anticipated 'Black Widow' to Hit Theatres May 2020
I, like many other fans of the #MarvelCinematicUniverse, am looking forward to the release of Black Widow in May, 2020. Part of it is I have a hard time believing just how far Scarlett Johansson has come. She's now 35, but I can distinctly remember when she graced movie screens in The Horse Whisperer in 1998 at the age of around 14 or 15. At the time, I just figured she was a child actress who would probably slide into obscurity as many others have done. Thankfully, I was wrong, and she's become one of the strongest female lead characters in a franchise to date.

A Filmmaker's Guide to 'Malcolm X' (1992)
It is very well-known that Malcolm X (1992) may be one of the greatest biopics ever made and it is even more well-known that it is possibly Denzel Washington's greatest performance of his career. Personally, I am so obsessed with this film, I just keep watching it over and over again. Every single time a new detail comes to me and every single time I love the film more and more. We all know that shit gets real as soon as Sam Cooke's song "A Change is Gonna Come" hits the movie whilst the car scene is in play.

Bookworms and Smarty Pants
As a child of the 1980s, John Hughes was a staple of my early years of movie watching. He was the writer and director of some of the best comedies that the decade produced. To me, however, his legacy will always be two of the greatest teenager centric movies ever made, “The Breakfast Club” and “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”. Unfortunately, Hughes died a decade ago, and the high quality of his teenager centric movies hasn’t been produced or matched since. Sure, we had “Superbad”, but that was all the way back in 2007. And there have been critical darlings like “Eighth Grade” and “Lady Bird”, but I didn’t find anything special about either movie. So I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered “Booksmart”, which is pretty much the female version of “Superbad”. Sure, it’s not on par with “Breakfast Club” or “Ferris Bueller”, but it does capture the tone of Hughes’ work.

Movie Review: 'Portrait of a Lady on Fire'
Portrait of a Lady on Fire is one hell of a great title. It evokes images of sex and primal desire. It suggests passion and excitement. It reads poetic and beautiful and it’s easy to imagine how lovely it must sound when spoken in French, the language of origin for the film and filmmakers. Portrait of a Lady on Fire is the French language Academy Award submission for 2019 and it is worthy of the distinction.
