Napoleon Movie Review
Over a long and storied career, director Ridley Scott has been a regular presence in the historical genre. Between great attention to detail and engaging narratives, his films have achieved widespread acclaim. For his latest large-scale release, Scott takes on Napoleon Bonaparte, perhaps the most decorated and successful military master in human history. This monumental figure has been covered several times in film but rarely in a full chronicle. The 2023 release is capable enough, but it does stumble in the adaptation process.

Wish
Well Disney’s latest movie, Wish, has been released and I have thoughts. Now if you’ve read any of my other Disney related content then you already know that I judge the quality of a Disney movie almost entirely based on the music. We will get to that. Overall I think Disney had the perfect story, cast and emotion to celebrate 100 years of hope, dreams and magic. I think they took that perfection and drowned it in a sea of AI generated music.

Movie Review: "Killers of the Flower Moon" (2023)
I saw this film on the 9th of November, 2023. I think it was everyone's first instinct when going to see this movie to make sure you had: a) eaten something, b) used the bathroom, c) had at least a bottle of water and some snacks with you, d) wore something comfortable, especially if you were going to be sitting down for 4 hours or so and e) made sure you had enough phone battery to call a taxi to get you home. I have to admit the planning that I had to do when going to see this movie seemed a bit on the extreme side but, in the end it was all pretty much worth it.

In Defense of Prometheus
The much-maligned Prometheus (2012) saw director Ridley Scott return to the Alien universe for the first time since its creation with Alien (1979). Before its release, there was a feeling amongst fans of the series that he would “right the ship” or recapture the frightening pedigree he had helped create. Unfortunately, Prometheus failed to that that in many fan’s eyes. I was not amongst them. I enjoyed the movie though I acknowledge its minor faults. Its detractors tend to disagree so, I thought I’d try a different tactic. Prometheus is a Christmas movie. Not just any Christmas move either, but an interpretation of the original Christmas story – The Nativity. You might be saying, ‘nah. Whatever Prometheus is, it ain’t that.’ Well, come along with me for a little trip and see if I can’t convince you.
