Halloween 2026 Costume: Savannah Bananas
If you're old enough to understand the reference in my subtitle, congratulations. Around August or September, I always prepare for Halloween. I think about the holiday around June, coming up with some ideas of who or what to dress up as. 2026 will be my 17th year taking part in this celebration. Yes, you've heard that right. I've been dressing up for Halloween since 2010 and at the time, I was 22 years old. The last two Halloweens were baseball-related, with me being an Angel in the Outfield and the year before that, Reggie Jackson. I won my company-wide Halloween contests two years in a row and aiming for a third. I'll be sticking with the baseball theme again this year. However, who I'll be for Halloween is someone I intend to outdo last year's costume. Based on the subtitle for this story, you've probably have heard of them. It's none other than the Savannah Bananas. For those that aren't familiar with them, they're like the baseball version of The Harlem Globetrotters. Some people love them, while others despise them. For years, I fell in the latter category. I've accused them of ruining baseball, having entitled attitudes, and thinking that they were above everyone. I still stand by the last two points and have a right to feel this way, but it was difficult for me to find any reason to like them. Now, I'm starting to warm up to them a little (heavy emphasis on the little part) and give them a fair shot, which I've constantly resisted previously. Also, my birthday will take place about a couple of weeks after Halloween, and it'll be my final year in my thirties. I'll highlight the items that I plan to purchase in order to put this amazing costume together.
