If you are a fan of old school television you have probably been watching reruns of the programs you used to enjoy. Retro, Decades, MeTV and Heroes networks run classic television shows 24/7. You can also see your favorites from years gone by on Netflix and Hulu. If you were a fan of the Friday night 90s lineup on ABC you probably enjoyed Step By Step. and the little boy with the big frame glasses named Mark. This blended family with 6 children was the 1990s version of the Brady Bunch and a popular sitcom.

Watching golden oldies causes many viewers to wonder where their favorite characters are today and whether or not they remained in the entertainment industry. The Young man who portrayed Mark has done well for himself so keep reading to find out what he has done with his life. Sadly many child stars have had difficult lives as they transitioned into adulthood but the man who was the small fry of the ABC sitcom is not one of them. Christopher Jon Castile portrayed the youngest son Mark Foster on Step By Step and was considered kind of geeky but smart.

Castile was in all 7 seasons of the hit show and a total of 180 episodes. He was the son of Carol Foster Lambert,(Suzanne Summers) and the stepson of Frank Lambert, (Patrick Duffy). Mark was lovable, mischievous, and a quick thinker. The Gerk image, however, stuck with him and he was considered by some to he’s white version of a similar character on another ABC hit, Family Mayters. There was one episode where the two met when Mark connected with the nerdy Steven Q Urkle from Family Matters. By the time he was a teen, Mark was more like his siblings and even had a girlfriend.

Castile has at times been confused with Lee Norris, who portrayed Stuart Minkus in the first season of Boy Meets World. Castile was born on June 15, 1980, in Orange County, CA. His parents are Jon and Donna Castile and he has a younger sister named Bethany. He is married to Allison Castile and the couple has two children. The former child star was widely known for his role as Ted Newton in Beethoven and Beethoven's 2nd. Castile was also the voice of Zachary Sellers and Nick Mulligan in Focus on the Family's Adventures in Odyssey, and the voice of Eugene Horowitz in Hey Arnold!. The child actor was also seen in Are You Afraid of the Dark? My Two Dads, Hurricane Sam, Empty Nest, Going Places, and The Fanelli Man.

He was nominated for 5, Young Artist Awards but did not have a win. His nominations were as follows: 1992:, "Best Young Actor Starring in a Television Series" - Step by Step, 1992: "Best Young Actor Starring in a Motion Picture" - Beethoven, 1993: "Outstanding Youth Ensemble in a Television Series" - Step by Step (shared w/cast) 1994: "Best Performance by a Youth Ensemble in a Motion Picture" - Beethoven's 2nd (shared w/cast) and 1996: "Best Performance by a Young Actor in a TV Comedy Series" - Step by Step. The actor seemed to have a bright future ahead of him in the entertainment industry but he retired from acting after Step By Step was canceled.

Castile received his B.A. and M.A. from Cal State Long Beach and he is currently an adjunct political science professor at Biola University in La Mirada, California. He also teaches history at Downey High School. He is listed as an adjunct professor of political sciences at Biola University. Castile has been quite busy as over the years as he acquired a pilot's license, and wrote his autobiography, "Being You is Most Definitely Cool." He enjoys playing golf and can be heard on Focus on the Family's "Adventures in Odyssey" where he portrays Nick Mulligan.
