Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic - 5 Actors to Play Canderous Ordo

Who are the 5 best actors to play a live-action Canderous Ordo?

Canderous Ordo was one of the coolest characters to come out of KOTOR and the only character to have a significant role in the sequel. I remember when I first realized that Mandalore from KOTOR 2 was actually Canderous realizing his end goal was the coolest thing in the world.

Arguably the third most developed character in the entire franchise as a whole. I think that especially with the success of The Mandalorian on Disney +, Canderous Ordo’s name will inevitably be brought up into the main series lore.

Canderous was a battle-ready soldier serving in the Mandalorian Wars. After the Mandalorian’s defeat, he worked as an enforcer in Taris before he joined Revan in his journey to find the Star Maps. There was no real motivation ever given for why Canderous joined Revan, but it’s heavily implied that he was just looking for excitement.

His age is unknown but it’s assumed that he is in his forties and that’s the general age I looked for when thinking of actors to play him.

This is my fourth list of this series. Here are the other three before it:

Jolee Bindo

Juhani

Misson Vao

I usually do lists of ten, but I was struggling to think of five other good names to list. I felt it would be a waste of time to give names that weren’t good fits, so I cut the list down to 5 great names.

5. Eric Dane

A TV actor who has played every archetype imaginable from a handsome doctor, NAVY Captain, and creepy father. He’s a leading TV man who is showing off his range in the latter stages of his career on the HBO show Euphoria.

Dane has that commanding presence that Canderous Ordo requires and a strong resemblance to the game character. At first glance, your though is he’s too much of a pretty boy for Ordo, but watching his work outside of Grey’s Anatomy proves that thought wrong.

4. Sean Bean

Bean is such a strong actor and has yet to find a role to carry his legacy past Game of Thrones. No shame if Ned Stark is your best role, but there is so much more he could be doing but has yet to find another role to raise his bar as an actor.

Being a part of Star Wars and Game of Thrones would be two amazing credits to highlight a career. The Old Republic would be an excellent place for Bean to play in. As Ordo, his gruff voice would be perfect as a Mandalorian.

3. Daniel Craig

An acclaimed actor who will be finally hanging up his suit in the James Bond franchise and would be a good choice for a non-Jedi Star Wars character. After coming off one of the other largest franchises in the world, who knows if he’d want to join another.

His intimidating action niche would be a great fit for Canderous Ordo. Despite his short stature at 5’10, he’d still be able to pull off the menacing persona that the character needs.

2. Michael Fassbender

Where has he gone?

It seems like Fassbender has been on hiatus after the failure that was the X-Men franchise despite his solid performance as Magneto. He has never shied away from big movie roles, so I have no doubt he’d accept a Star Wars role.

Fassbender has the stature and has more than enough ability to pull of hardened Mandalorian fighting for a chance to save his people.

1. Josh Brolin

I don’t think there is anyone better for a rough around the edges military type in his forties. Taking on roles like Cable has shown how great he is for this archetype. Another big-name actor who would be great for a non-Jedi character.

Brolin is perfect for the role of Canderous because of how easily he can portray a hardened action star while also bringing heart and charm to a character. I think that if he played Canderous he’d be an amazing addition to the ensemble cast that would be part of this franchise.
