Who are the best young actresses to play Mission Vao in live-action?

This is the third of my full fan casting series of Knights of the Old Republic characters with a possible movie fast approaching. The first two will be here:

- Jolee Bindo

-Juhani

Mission Vao is a young Twi'lek who was raised by her horrible role model brother. He gambled and constantly got them both into trouble. His escapades forced them to leave their home planet and escape to Taris.

Here Mission got in good with the HIdden Beks swoop gang, but was abandoned by her brother. This was when she met her Wookie friend Zaalbar.

Mission is an independent young woman who prides herself on being able to take care of herself at such a young age. This also makes her hardheaded and stubborn when it comes to taking orders.

When looking to cast Mission, my main goal was just finding some known and unknown actresses that have played characters like this before.

At the time of KOTOR, Mission is 14-years old. I've decided to focus on actresses in the 15-22 range. Reason being, it's hard to find quality actresses in this range that there is enough film to base an opinion on.

Mission's age isn't a major part of her storyline, so aging the character up would not be a major issue. As long as she stays relatively young(16-19) I don't see a problem, and every actress on this list can pull that off.

10. Ciara Bravo

Bravo in Wayne

I think that she's a better actress then she's been allowed the opportunity to show. In the webseries Wayne, her accent is hard to stomach at times but I think it's just a simple problem of being casted poorly. Shows like The Red Band Society is more her speed where she does a better job.

Bravo has a charm that always comes through in her work that would be a good fit for Mission. I think there's a chance that Bravo could never break into the movies, especially blockbuster films like Star Wars, but I think she'd be worth a look.

9. Paris Berelc

Berelc is currently becoming a child star by making her rounds through kids tv on Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, and even Netflix. It's usually very hard to gauge any type of acting ability from shows like this with unrealistic situations and dialogue but Berelc has been able to stand out.

With acting in these children shows, less is more. The dialogue can easily become cringy if overacted and Berelc does a great job at just simply playing the characters she's given. I think she'd be able to pull off a role like this and help breakout of the Disney bopper roles she's been pegged into.

8. Mackenzie Foy

Disney already gave her a shot at a blockbuster in The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, however despite her best efforts she was not able to deliver the movie from it's poor plot. How about another shot for the once Twilight daughter.

There is plenty of potential left to be realized for Foy who seemed like she was beginning to get to a big start to her career after being cast in Christopher Nolan's Interstellar. You don't get offered a role in one of his movies unless there is potential for you in the industry.

7. Joey King

Her career began on a roll with awards coming and roles that seemed like she was going to be one of the next big stars. However, it seems like her credits while not few, have lacked a lot of merit. This was until The Act where she was nominated many times and gave a shivering performance.

This role really revived many peoples belief in her young career, and showed off that she might be one of the rare actresses with limitless range.

6. Kaitlyn Dever

Most recognizable for her hilarious role in Booksmart and following that up with her powerful portrayal of Marie Adler in Netflix's Unbelievable. It was a major break out year for her 2020. Earning a Golden Globe nomination for Unbelievable.

Dever's range has been shown off and taken notice of. I think that she's only going to continue to grow and take on more prime roles like Star Wars. With Misson she'll be able to mainly focus on her comedic that she excels in but with Star Wars, it always comes back to the dramatics eventually.

5. Lilly-Rose Depp

Hardly any screen time at all and Depp was able to convey such a powerful character in The King and prove that she is more than just a last name. I was beginning to get worried after two straight Kevin Smith films to begin her career, that she may not be the future A-lister we expected. Don't get me wrong, she did a fine job and I love Kevin Smith the person. The films were just not their for me.

She has however proven that thought wrong.

But Depp seems like someone who could demand higher regard then a supporting role in a Star Wars movie where she'd be in makeup the entire time, but I think she's worth putting on the list.

4. Hunter Schafer

Very new to acting which I think is what would attract Disney to her since they love putting unknown names in Star Wars. Schafer's first role was as Jules in the HBO young adult hit Euphoria.

Without much experience it's hard to say whether she's ready to make such a big jump. Her role in Euphoria was well received and she did a great job alongside Zendaya to deliver one of the most unique TV characters I've seen in a while.

3. Millie Bobby Brown

This feels cheap. I think she's on almost any fan casting list for a young female. I think that her abilities as an actress are solid for someone at such a young age and maybe putting her a role like this will be a benefit to a supporting character like Mission.

Brown playing a supporting character in a blockbuster seems odd and it would probably be unrealistic but you really never know when it comes to Star Wars and what Disney can pull off.

2. Sophia Lillis

Lillis in IT

A copy and paste of Brown. A very recognizable young actress who could breathe a fresh look into the franchise. She would probably be more willing to accept a supporting role then Brown however.

Lillis was one of the breakout stars of the new It franchise that I walked away immensely impressed with the maturity she showed in this role. I think that he playing an angsty teen with a sense of adventure is a perfect role for her.

1. Lana Condor

I wasn't a fan of To All the Boys I've Loved Before, but I found Condor to be extremely charming and I loved her presence on the screen. She's on her way to becoming a leading lady.

Mission constantly finds herself into trouble and use her endearing qualities to wiggle her way out of tight situations. The charm I mentioned above is one of the reasons I like Condor for this role so much

Also, Mission is just as much a warrior as anyone on the team from KOTOR. Her time playing Saya Kuroki in Deadly Class showcased her ability to play in action roles.
