Scott and Liesl should be taken seriously on ‘ General Hospital’

This duo has so much more potential than comic relief and the writers should make use of the talents of Ken Shriner and Kathleen Gati.

Scott Baldwin and Liesl Obrecht have the makings of a true super couple if the GENERAL HOSPITAL writers take them in the proper direction. Right now they are cute together and just beginning to get to know one another. Ken Shriner is 67 and Kathleen Gati 63.They are members of a generation that is much in need of representation on daytime. There is a lot of emphasis on the youth on daytime television but mature couples should be shown as being romantic as well. There was a time when the older couples were the staples of the soaps.

Scott and Liesl have a lot in common as both loved Franco, they each have been top notch schemers, and both have been hurt and misunderstood by the majority of residents in Port Charles. This duo also share a terrible secret. Former DA Baldwin and the former Dr. O alone know the true fate of Dr. Kirk. Anna and Kevin were suspicious at one point but now the focus is on Cyrus Renault and Peter August The Dr. Kikr storyline has been shelved and there is no way to know if it will be revisited at a later date.

The GENERAL HOSPITAL viewers are loving Obtrecht and Scotty Baldwin together and hoping they really fall in love and become a power couple in Port Charles. Liesel's daughter Britt and Scott's ex-wife Laura both seemed taken aback at the budding romance but fans believe this duo has potential. They are especially romantic when they speak to each other in German as when Liesel asked Scott if he had any regrets about spending the night with her and he replied "Nein" which is German for no.

GENERAL HOSPITAL should not portray this couple simply as comedic relief but have them as seriously in love as Laura and Kevin who are another older couple on the ABC soap. Together Scott and Obrecht can work to expose Cyrus and Peter. They are outraged that Maxie’s fiancée murdered Franco and equally angry that Cyrus is taking over Port Charles. These two can put their wits together and have a part in both bad guys being brought to justice.

Scott is concerned for Liz and Cameron and has promised to be there for his step grandson. Liesel is frantic about Britt who is on the run with Jason. Each one of them will do everything they can to protect the ones they love and together they will be a powerhouse of love, laughter, and defending their families.

Scott Baldwin and Liesel Obrecht’s chemistry is amazing and viewers love the way they act like teenagers in love. GENERAL HOSPITAL fans don’t want the couple to become a novelty that fizzled away. It’s great watching Lathlern Gati o portraying a softer, gentler side of Liesel when she is with Scott. It’s great also that she has not lost her edge which she displayed when talking to Jordan after her encounter with Cyrus. Fans of Gati are delighted to see Liesel in love and hope it lasts for a long time.

Scott has bern pretty unlucky in love with Laura, Bobbie, and Lucy. At one point it looked as though he and nurse Spencer would rekindle their past romance but things did not work out. Spoilers don’t list anything specific that is coming up for these two but their followers are hoping they will continue to get significant air time. Scott and Obrecht are charming , witty, intelligent, cunning, and adorable. Who knows perhaps wedding bells might ring for this couple and that does not indicate that they have to become boring.
