Glamour just released its annual list of the 100 men who made history hotter, and the top honor really was no surprise. The readers picked Sam Elliott, for the second year in a row as the sexiest man alive. The 77 year old actor has legions of fans who have said for decades that he has "it" that certain charisma, aura, presence, and attitude that exudes savoir-faire and sex appeal, and his loyal devotees say he gets better with age.

Samuel Pack Elliott was born in Sacramento, California on August 9, 1944, and has been the recipient of various honors in his lifetime. He hs won a Critic's Choice Television Award, the National Board of Review Award and has been nominated for an Academy Award, two Screen Actor’s Guild Awards, two Golden Globes, and two Primetime Emmy's. In April 2018, he and his wife Katherine Ross were honored at the annual Western Heritage Awards. by the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.

The ladies love Elliott but he is a one-woman man who has been married to actress Katherine Ross since 1984 and they have one child a daughter Chloe Rose Elliott. The couple first met in 1969 when both were in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. They did not meer again until 1978 which is when they began dating and have been togerher ever since.

Elliott says he eas baptised as a child and sang in a church choir but as an adult he does not discuss his religious or political beliefs. The actor caught a lot of flack for the film adaptation of atheist Phillip Pullman's book The Golden Compass. He says the religious right claimed the movie was anti-catholic/anti christian and blocked the two sequals. Elliot says his answer is that he is an entertainer and the film is entertainment.
