Which Disney+ series is leading the polls of the most watched? As the data reveals, Star Wars and Marvel are the leading, most watched series on Disney+. Both Marvel and Star Wars have produced remarkable productions on Disney+. There have been some interesting and fan-favorite tales in both franchise’s series. No doubt, the Disney+ streaming service is a slam-dunk, delivering top quality movies and series through their library of Disney classics, MCU, and Star Wars adventures.

The top productions on Disney+ are obviously Star Wars and Marvel, both have the fanbase excited and full of anticipation of what is to come. Each week provides a sense of exhilaration as Star Wars and Marvel release new episodes, tales that are so exciting and interesting. They are packed with action, drama, and humor. The Hollywood Reporter conducted some statistical research on the topic of which Star Wars/Marvel series is the most watched on Disney+. There is no surprise as to which franchise is leading the polls. The results are… drumroll please… The Mandalorian! The Mandalorian is the most watched Disney+ series, no surprise there. The top three are as follows: The Mandalorian Season 2 leads with 8.38 billion minutes, second is The Mandalorian Season 1 with 5.42 billion minutes, and third is Loki Season 1 with 5.23 billion minutes.

One interesting factor is that the protagonist in The Mandalorian, Din Djarin, is a new, never before seen character. The producers, directors, and writers have done an outstanding job of creating and exhibiting the character and his adventures. The Loki series is interesting too since Loki, as a character, has been an anti-hero who has been turned into a somewhat hero in the MCU and his own series. Loki had the highest average viewing time per episode between any Marvel or Star Wars series. Loki averaged 872 million minutes per episode. The Mandalorian achieved 14.52 billion minutes in week 8 of their second season, the season finale entitled The Rescue.

The least watched shows were Hawkeye and The Book of Boba Fett. Interest in Boba Fett’s tale increased as the series progressed. Animated series, The Bad Batch and Marvel’s What If…? were not as successful either. Needless to say, the Disney+ streaming of the Star Wars and Marvel series made it on Nielsen’s top ten for streaming services. These results bring us to the conclusion, the Disney fanbase is more interested in the adventures of the characters in a galaxy far, far away and the heroes of the MCU than anything else on the service.

Now that we are one quarter into 2022, it will be interesting to see how the Disney+ streaming service progresses. The Star Wars saga and Marvel still have a lot of projects scheduled for the next couple years. In 2022, Star Wars has the premiere of Obi-Wan Kenobi in May, Andor, a third season of The Bad Batch, and hopefully the third season of The Mandalorian by the last quarter of 2022. The Marvel series Moon Knight just debuted on March 30 and looked good. The production has a different twist on a new protagonist in the MCU. Marvel also has Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk scheduled to debut, both being new heroes in the universe. The holiday season should be an exciting one for Marvel due to their holiday specials, such as the Werewolf by Night Halloween Special and the highly anticipated return of the Guardians of the Galaxy characters with The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. The year 2022 is looking to be another great one for Disney+.

As stated before, Disney+ has a lot scheduled for the streaming service, not only form Marvel and Star Wars but also their original Disney productions. The fanbase will not be disappointed for the most part. Star Wars is projected to beat out Marvel again this year, but Marvel will have some grand heroic adventures to premiere. Keep streaming for more adventures and have a good time.
