My Review of "The Bob's Burgers Movie"

Not a lot of cartoon TV shows get movies. Bob's Burgers did it!

The Bob's Burgers Movie has come out recently and it didn't take long for it to be streaming on Disney Plus. That's a good thing and a bad thing. It's great because we can all stream the movie however it might be bad for its box office revenue. Needless to say I think a lot of Bob's Burgers fans will be happy to finally get to see it.

The movie starts off just the way you'd expect it to start out. We have an intro that's kind of reminiscent of the usual TV show episode. There's a little mystery by the wharf and the family goes into a song and dance to introduce us to their problems.

Obviously everyone is going through something and they're all too familiar if you've been keeping up with the show. Bob and Linda have been denied their loan extension so Bob's worried about the future while Linda tries to encourage him. Tina is forever chasing after Jimmy Jr.. Gene is preparing for a sing and dance extravaganza. Then there's Louise who is being teased at school for being a baby.

I liked the twist to Louise's story because she has been wearing that bunny rabbit hat forever. They dive a little bit into this storyline and all will be revealed at the end.

Of course Bob's sorrows will continually get worse just as they do in the show. He's going to have to sell a lot of burgers in order to make up the money to pay their loan. It's going to be even more difficult to sell when there's a water pipe issue in front of the restaurant. Even worse the pipe creates a giant sinkhole that prevents anyone from entering his restaurant.

That's basically the catalyst that starts the story off. There's some secrets behind that hole that will reveal a huge adventure for the Burger gang. It's just as ridiculous as you expect it to be but with even better animation.

The animation will have you mesmerized throughout the movie. It's sort of like when the Simpsons had their movie. You can tell that the production value of the movie was much higher than the TV show from the animation alone. There's so many fun dance animations in this movie that you can't stop but get hypnotized at the beauty of this show. Even when things are going on the screen you get distracted by animations in the background.

All of the fun humor that you've all known Bob's Burgers for is in here as well. They're popular for a reason and I think fans of the show will appreciate this movie more than casual viewers. This is only because we all know the nuances of each of the characters as if they're our own family members.

The only problem I had with this movie is that this could have been a continuous TV storyline. They didn't really need to make it into a movie. Seeing the higher production value of this movie does make up for the fact that this is an extended TV episode though. There's nothing totally new in this movie though. They don't even add anything to change the world of Bob's Burgers TV show either.

Overall, as a Bob's Burgers fan I had a ton of fun with this movie. Is it a great movie? Well that's another story. Entertainment factor is high because I follow Bob's Burgers but if you're not familiar with the show you may easily get lost. So this movie will get a double rating. As a Bob's Burger fan this movie gets a 7 out of 10. If you haven't followed Bob's Burger I would say this movie would get a 5 out of 10. There's still fun stuff that people can get into but a lot of it will be lost on them.
