Blank Check (1994) Film Trailer

This movie has been my all time underrated favorite Disney film compared to Polly and Angels in the Outfield (all 90s Disney underrated live action films). The movie opens Carl Quigley (played by Miguel Ferrier) an inmate escaping from finding his money in abandoned cottage. Preston Waters (played by Brian Bonsall), eleven-year-old, dealing with a crisis, his bullied older brothers: (both played by Chris Demetral and Michael Faustino) are taking over his room to start their Hand and Foot business, and he's not getting much allowance money. At the amusement park for Butch's birthday party, Butch (played by Alex Zuckerman) Preston's bully, which I don't know he's there and how he got invited. Maybe Butch's dad knows Preston's dad or maybe childhood friends or next door neighbors. Preston had to watch his friends have fun and he rides on the lame rides. The funniest part was when he was Preston holding cotton candy while Butch and his friends and a huge wave got at Preston. At dinner, Sandra Waters, Preston's mother (played by Jayne Atkinson) gives him a birthday card from his grandmother. In the card, it was a blank check for Preston but Grandma forgot to write the amount of payment. So Fred Waters, Preston's dad (played by James Rebhorn) and businessman writes the amount of $11. Preston meets Shay (played by Karen Duffy), an attractive banker, the way she walks is like a Marvin Gaye is about to come on.

the Biderman (played by Michael Lerner), head banker of the bank believing Preston was Juice after he saw the check signed Quigley. But the real Juice (played by Tone Loc) enters the bank to collect the money from Quigley. The smartest thing was how Preston uses the computer to write his check and use the computer as his voice to buy a house pretending to be a guy named Macintosh, name from the computer. We meet Henry (played by Rick Ducommun),a comic limo driver hired by Preston aka Macintosh to drive him around to go shopping. The shopping scene with him and Henry was thrilling and fun esp the ice cream part. Shay and Preston went on a date at a fancy restaurant until it got messy when he fell off the chair and lobsters fell on him. The fountain scene looks fun but was weird at the same time with him and Shay playing and dancing in the fountain. I laughed at the part when Quigley, Juice, and Biderman tried to chase until the fountain got to them. The party looked so elegant at Mr. Macintosh (which was supposed to be Preston's) birthday party set up by the Yvonne (played by Debbie Allen), the gold digging event planner looked classic expensive but not suitable for an eleven year olds birthday party.

But in the end, Shay wasn't really a banker, she actually an undercover FBI agent investigating on theft at a bank and the three crooks: Quigley, Juice, Bidderman were arrested. The best part was Henry and Preston see each other but it would be their final goodbye since they find out that Macintosh was no more. Honestly, I felt like Henry knew Preston was Mr. Macintosh the whole time when he said he was really going to miss Mr. Macintosh. Overall, this film was awesome, interesting funny but low key confusing in the end. I was confused on why Shay, a grown woman kiss Preston, an eleven-year-old kid on the lips like it would have more creepy if it was an eleven-year-old girl kissing a grown man. I love Henry and Preston's friendship even though Henry is a limo driver. The music was awesome and the shopping sequence was fun to watch. Preston was living the rich kid life that every kid wants to live. The actors were solid to watch including Tone Loc playing as Juice and late Rick playing were hilarious in the film.
