As a kid, I would wake up on Saturday mornings just hoping that my favorite show was going to be on Disney Channel or Nickelodeon. With the modern luxuries of Hulu, Netflix, Showtime, and many others, it doesn’t matter what time our favorite show is playing because we can watch anything we want at any time. For just a moment let’s take it back to the day when we scheduled our week around the times that our favorite shows were playing on tv. What are those shows? Let’s admit it, every channel has some shows that are big hits and others that make you decide to go find a book to read instead. Today we are going to tell you what the most popular tv show on every channel is.

1. HGTV- Fixer Upper

If you haven’t been blessed by the lives of Chip and Joanna Gaines then you need to watch this show. Chip is hilarious, Joanna is sweet, their work is incredible, and it all together makes for the best home renovation show on the market. They do a wonderful job at using rustic home décor to turn old homes into beautiful modern masterpieces. You’ll likely feel like you need to move to Waco, Texas after just a few episodes.

2. Food Channel- Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives

Don’t lie, when you think of the food channel you think of this show. We all want to see what Guy Fieri is going to eat next and when he is going to come to our hometown. We know a restaurant is good if Guy has been there and every restaurant that has been fortunate enough to have him stop by for lunch makes sure that it is well known to customers. Pictures with Guy Fieri’s face are hung up in the lobby because that alone shows that your joint is a step above the rest.

3. Discovery Channel- MythBusters

Experiments and explosions and curiosity make for one entertaining television show. We all like to understand how obscure things work and what makes them happen. Over the past 11 years, the team has tested 946 myths and used over 168,000 feet of duct tape. The show experiments on all kinds of crazy things. Sometimes all that’s needed after an action-packed show of explosions is a cabinet door replacement but other times it appears, they need to rebuild an entire home. The show had some behind the scenes drama when some of the team left the show, but it didn’t affect its ability to produce something that people were drawn to. Mythbusters has drawn in some pretty big names such as Barack Obama to come to be a special guest on the show.

4. ESPN- Pardon the Interruption

First airing on October 22, 2001, Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon have been hosting the world’s greatest sports new show for nearly 20 years. They discuss and occasionally argue about things in a respectful yet very entertaining manner. As a sports junkie myself, I remember coming home from school each day to watch PTI and SportsNation. Unfortunately, SportsNation, hosted by Collin Cowherd, has discontinued giving PTI the easy number one spot on the list. Michael Wilbon, a native of Chicago, Illinois, was formerly a sportswriter and columnist for the Washington Post. His cohost Tony Kornheiser was also a sportswriter before joining the show. The two sports fanatics have great chemistry which makes for a great show. The only complaint I would make is that recently they have been weaving politics into their discussions which is not what people are seeking when they turn to ESPN.

There are many more channels and many more tv shows. So many that sometimes flipping through all of them is a pain. The ones listed above are just a few of the greatest to ever debut. Check them out!
