Snow can make a big difference. You never know what stories it holds.

Following a snowstorm, Let it Snow arrived on Netflix in 2019. On Christmas Eve, a storm hits. Four stories about romance, coming-of-age, and friendship are interwoven during this time.

The premise of Let it Snow is what caught my attention. I love when films have separate story arcs. Although characters are going through different conflicts, they are all learning the same lesson. Let it Snow addresses the tough moments young adults face, but with a little snow, we’ll figure it out together.

Let it Snow is a character film. I liked all the characters. They are relatable on several levels. Growing up is never easy, especially during the teen years. We’re trying to figure ourselves out, romances, and whether to go to college after high school. It’s a lot to think about.

Containing a notable cast of actors, everybody did a good job in the connection to their characters. Isabela Marcel and Shameik Moore defined that you never know what’s going on in anybody’s life. That goes for anybody who’s famous. Don’t let fears stop you from living your dreams.

This is my new favorite Joan Cusack role! As a sarcastic snowplow driver wearing a tinfoil outfit, she tells the truth like it is. The storyline in which Addie (Odeya Rush) is having a difficult time with her relationship is an important segment. No matter how old you get, you can never stop listening to adults. They have the best ideas.

Other credits include Mitchell Hope, Kiernan Shipka, Matthew Nozka, Jacob Batalon, Miles Robbins, and more. There’s a different range of characters. All stories connected well. I liked all the interactions between the characters. The story had its funny moments. It’s all based on comedic timing.

I am also really thankful that there are only four subplots. Some films tend to overload viewers, like with ten subplots! That’s tough to follow. The character’s stories are easy to focus on.

Did you know that Let it Snow is based on a short story? Neither did I until I was watching this movie with my friend. Dorrie’s (Liv Hewson) arc was made up for the film. Her arc is a chance for all viewers to be represented.

Snow is a character of its own. I love the snow! You never know what’s going to happen when it snows. It makes a difference. Nice locations were picked to shoot in, creating snowy lands. The Waffle House was my favorite setting.

Let it Snow is a coming-of-age story. We should never care about what other people think. Senior year, whether in high school or college, is never going to end up the way you want it to. Believe me, I know from experience. What matters is that you should make the best of what happens.

Friendship is a huge theme in Let it Snow. Luke Snellin teaches us to look beyond the snow. This is a film for all who are heading into the later chapters of their teen years. Even though I am no longer a teenager, I could still connect to the story and its themes. It’s okay to be you and to have fear. We’re all afraid of something. Look around and see what you want.

Stories that take place in one day’s time are more important than you think. Life is an adventure. When life offers you something special, you take it.

For viewers who like interwoven stories, Let it Snow is the film for you. It’s enjoyable from beginning to end.
