Spoken of as only rumour and myth, the Dragon Clan was thought to be nothing but a legend. Now, after more than a millennia, they have risen again, more powerful and deadlier than even the legends claimed.

I really liked this and the idea behind it. I do like that what we see is earth earth and not a realm we’re unsure of so what we see happen throughout th is book makes much more sense and it keeps the thrilling parts of history, King Arthur for example, intact and hidden away from modern eyes. There is some great reasoning behind this and it doesn’t matter if it is in this story or anywhere else the world doesn’t need to have access to mystical items be they swords or Merlin’s magics. There is something romantic about this even thought it’s incredibly deadly in its nature. So yeah I’m thrilled to bits with how this all works together to expand the world in terms of fantasy with history.

I am totally chuffed with the way that this is being told. The story & plot development that we see through how the sequence of events unfold as well as how the reader learns information is extremely well achieved. I love the character development that we see through the dialogue, the character interaction and how they act and react to the situations and circumstances that they encounter. I have to say i’m really impressed with how we see the pacing here and how it takes us through the pages revealing the twists & turns, the story and introduces us to the characters.

I really like how we see this being structured and how the layers emerge, grow and strengthen. There are a lot of different tracks happening that really help to introduce the character and how they work together when the come together and its phenomenal. I’m really impressed with how everything seems to contribute to the main arc. How we see everything working together to create the story’s ebb & flow and how it moves the story forward is so well achieved.

The interiors here are really nice. For a change it feels like one art team did the entire book instead of the work being noticeably different. This makes for seamless transitioning and that’s major. The linework is sensational and how we see the varying weights and techniques being utilised to create this level and quality of detail work that we see is astonishing. The level of work that we see in these armours and the dragons is so well rendered and so strikingly beautiful it really is a joy to see. That we see backgrounds utilised throughout the way we do and how they work within the composition within the panels being utilised to show the depth perception, sense of scale and the overall sense of size and scope to the book. The utilisation of the page layouts and how we see the angles and perspective in the panels show some really strong, talented sets of eyes for storytelling. The colour work is beautifully rendered as well. How we see the various hues and tones within the colours being utilised to create the shading, highlights and shadow work is amazing to see.

I like how this ends as well. We see the potential for both the hero of the book and the villains to make repeated returns to the Zenescope universe and if i’m to be completely honest I think that the Black Knight and her alter ego could play integral roles in their future appearances as well. The potential that this issue brings is amazing and I have to say that it has left me gobsmacked overall at how well this has been brought together.
