General Hospital Spoilers: Does the destruction of the Haunted Star indicate the end of an era and of Luke Spencer?
The writers may be sending a strong message with the drone strike.
Is this the end of an era?
Friday on General Hospital the WSB used a drone strike to destroy a significant piece of Port Charles's history and this action could be to send a very deliberate message to the viewing audience. The saga leading up to the weekend cliffhanger began in 1980 when the cruise ship The Titan which was owned by the Cassadines docked in the Port Charles harbor. In November 1981 Helena Cassadine (then Elizabeth Taylor) gave the yacht to Luke and Laura Spencer (Anthony Geary and Genie Francis) as a wedding present and they renamed it The Haunted Star.
Now with Victor Cassdine (Charles Shaughnessy) assuredly blown to bits upon the vessel and no sign that Luke is still alive the General Hospital writers might be closing the chapter on the evil Cassadines and their vendetta against the Spencer family. Spoilers suggest that those involved in the drama in Greenland will be back in Port Charles by next Thursday when Esme Prince ( Avery Kristan Pohl) will rush to GH and Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) and Portia Robinson (Brooke Kerr) will get good news.
Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stewart) and Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chaves) are trying to do better than their ancestors and both are changing because of the women they love. Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) has changed Valentin's life and Trina Robinson ( Tabyana Ali) is doing the same for Spencer. The fate of Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Haus) is uncertain so Spencer and his brother Baby Ace ( Jay and Joey Clay) at this time are the last of the clan.
Spoilers mislead viewers
During the buildup toward Friday's events, spoilers have been predicting things that were pretty outrageous like saying Kiki Jerome (Hayley Erin) would return from the dead to save her sister Willow Tat (Katelynn MacMullen) because Obrecht would not arrive back in Port Charles on time. There were also rumors that Frisco Jones (Jack Wagoner ) would show p to help take down Victor but Frisco was never seen or heard and fans only heard Felicia Scorpio (Kristiana Wagoner) say she spoke to him by phone.
Anything can happen between now and next Thursday and there are supposed to be more twists and turns to this plot. Based on what is known at this time it appears that a lot of what has been projected was just speculation. Spoilers were also saying Geary's character would be found alive and assist with Victor's takedown but the actor remains in Amsterdam and there is no sign Luke is not really dead.
Some spoilers suggested that Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) was going to locate Luke when she rescued her son Ethan Lovett ( James Ryan) but Ethan is safe and Luke is nowhere to be found. The death of Victor, Luke remaining dead and the destruction of The Haunted Star could indicate that a new era is coming in Port Charles.
Is General Hospital sending viewers a message?
Perhaps General Hospital is sending a message and letting the viewers know it's time to let it all go. Tracy Quartermaine returned to town a few weeks back and spoke about how Victor killed Luke which increased speculation that he was alive out there somewhere.
If by next Thursday there is no sign of Luke then General Hospital fans should accept that he is not coming back. Spencer and Valentin can move forward with the women they love without the family curse hanging over them. The destruction of The Haunted Star marks the end of 4 decades of drama and possibly the final end to talk about Luke Spencer and Victor Cassadine.
