Following His Migration to Kick, Streamer xQc Is Already Getting Himself in Trouble on the Platform

Even though he’s only been on the platform for a short while, xQc is already in trouble on Kick.

So, in my previous chats, I’ve talked about all sorts of stuff related to streaming. You can find the links to those discussions at the bottom of this post. But for now, let’s dive into xQc’s deal with Kick and the recent drama he faced while live streaming on there.

What was xQc’s deal with Kick?

xQc, the famous streamer also known as Felix Lengyel, just hit the jackpot with Kick, a rival platform to Twitch. The deal he scored is absolutely insane, worth a mind-blowing $70 million spread over two years. And wait for it, with extra perks, it could even go up to a whopping $100 million!

His agent, Ryan Morrison, even went as far as claiming that this Kick contract is one of the top 25 talent deals ever, including those in the sports world. Talk about making waves!

Here’s the kicker though: xQc isn’t tied down to Kick exclusively. He can still stream on other platforms like Twitch, although he won’t be as active there as he used to be. Gotta keep those options open, you know?

Now, Kick might not have as massive an audience as Twitch, but they make up for it by offering a much fatter paycheck. Plus, unlike Twitch’s strict rules on gambling streams, Kick actually has a dedicated category for it. That’s a big deal because xQc is known for his love of gambling.

In fact, he once admitted to losing a jaw-dropping $2 million in just one month. Crazy, right? But hey, he’s not planning on changing his ways anytime soon. In his own words, “I’m all about that gambling life. I’m gonna keep doing it. Period.”

Some folks might have doubts about Kick, especially since Marcus “djWHEAT” Graham, the former big shot at Twitch, called it a “sham” back in December 2022. But it seems like Kick is dead set on expanding its audience and making it big.

What trouble did xQc get into?

So, get this, xQc just joined Kick and boy, is he already causing a ruckus! We all know xQc is no stranger to controversy on Twitch, but now he’s managed to tick off the DMCA folks on Kick.

During one of his recent streams on Kick, xQc violated their DMCA policy. You know, the Digital Millennium Copyright Act thingy that prevents streamers from using copyrighted stuff without permission.

In this case, xQc was streaming the movie ‘The Dark Knight’ from 2008. Right in the middle of the scene where the Joker is in a jail cell, a Kick staff member had to break the news to him about the violation.

If you check out xQc’s Kick channel, there’s a clip where he suddenly pauses the stream, mutters a few words like “makes sense” and “gg,” and just ends it. Talk about a buzzkill!

And get this, he could’ve earned thousands of dollars just from that stream alone, considering how long he had been streaming the movie. According to streaming expert Devin Nash, xQc’s hourly earnings on Kick could be around $10,000. Yeah, you heard me right!

But the DMCA trouble isn’t the only thing xQc has to deal with. He recently moved back to Canada because he was getting swatted too often at his old place. You’d think the swatting incidents would stop, but nope!

Cops keep showing up at his new house too. He even made a video tour of his new place, and guess what? It ends with flashing police lights and an officer at his doorstep. Poor guy just can’t catch a break!

Final Words

Anyway, despite the DMCA hiccup and the police troubles, it’ll be interesting to see how xQc fares on Kick and what kind of impact he’ll have on the platform.

Will he be able to make it big outside of Twitch? Only time will tell.
